My wife and I selected Romano’s Macaroni Grill for our anniversary meal this year. There was no wait for a table…which seemed odd since it was around 5:30pm on a Saturday night and there was almost no parking spaces available in the parking lot. The hostess escorted us to a table in the rear of the restaurant and asked my wife if the table was acceptable. My wife told her that we would prefer a table that was not directly alongside the main walking path. There were 5 other empty tables in the immediate area and my wife asked if we could sit at one of the other tables. The hostess told us that none of the other tables were prepared and that she seats people according to “server sections”….whatever that means…and she directed us back to the original table that was literally 7 feet away from the table we wanted. Fyi…all of the other tables were clean and were set up EXACTLY like our table. My thought was “if you’re not going to listen to what we say, why even ask us if the table is acceptable”??? We got bumped into and brushed by servers the entire time we were eating. The food was good, and our waitress was great but the overall experience was not what we expected because of the hostess. Earlier tonight the ‘hub’ and I ordered delivery through Iron City and for the second time in the last seven days we went to the menu for Romano’s Macaroni Grill. I ordered Pollo Chicken and my husband ordered Chicken Marsala. Our food came in a timely fashion. Both meals were exceptionally freshly packaged, generous portions and absolutely delicious. I’m more of a street photographer than food.. but I took time for some phone clicks!

Seriously, some of the best food I’ve had in a while. We were seated close to the kitchen area so we could see the cook actually making our food and it was great. He was so skilled at making everything. The staff was amazing too. Our server was super attentive and made us feel at home and welcome. For sure try the Decadent Chocolate Cake because it was the best cake we’ve had at a resturant.

This place just gets worse and worse. Tonight we got takeout and when my husband arrived at the designated time, half of our order of 2 entrees and an appetizer wasn’t prepared. The restaurant wasn’t busy, so there wasn’t an excuse. After waiting another 10 minutes and confusion by the staff on what was actually in our order, he got everything we ordered. When he got home I was shocked at my entree and the appetizer. I’m sure it’s hard to tell, but picture that just looks like a blob of crumbs with some marinara sauce is an order of cheesesticks. The picture of the order that looks like a child’s sized pasta is actually a $17 plate of build-your-own pasta. The serving size provided was a joke. Needless to say, we wouldn’t recommend Macaroni Grill.

Kitchen staff & food were good (but slow due to server).. poor management and server. We had 3 errors on our check, waitress didn’t seem too concerned about. She was making excuses, then finally went for Manager to fix check. It gets fixed and I gave gift cards to pay for $75 tab. More waiting for manager to respond and take payment.. I’m thinking.. servers can be trusted with our credit cards but not gift cards? We left our excess $25 card there, knowing we wouldn’t use it as we wouldn’t go back there and didn’t feel like waiting any longer. Save your money and go to Olive Garden or anywhere else, it appears many of the same issues from previous reviews are still problems. They’re quick to respond to reviews on here, but not as quick fixing the problems.

The atmosphere is nice and the good was fine, but it’s not kept very clean. There were spider webs in the corner by my seat. The waitress seemed ambivalent and almost sarcastic. There was a long wait for the food. We had to remind her to bring us the bread. It was not a busy night.

We waited 10 minutes before we met our server, who I believe was the hostess, also never identified herself. She took drink orders. It was 20 minutes before we ever got water. After 30 minutes, the table that came in after us and sat after us was eating entrees and we still haven’t seen bread or our drinks.
