After seeing the good reviews and because we are trying to sample all of the well-reviewed Japanese restaurants in the area, we got takeout from this place one recent evening. I ordered the deluxe sushi sashimi combo and was disappointed. The fish was just fresh enough, but only barely, the slicing and presentation of the sashimi and sushi was not very good, and the sashimi actually had a small portion of fish tail in one piece, which isn’t acceptable at all. The included sushi and dragon roll were all barely average as well. For the nearly $40 entree price before tax and tip, it left a lot to be desired. I also got some fried chicken and it was either actually calamari or was marinated in a way as to make the meat’s texture and color look different than any chicken I’ve ever seen. The miso soup was above average, at least. We have discussed trying again but this time, dining in. When I picked up the order, the restaurant itself was packed and everyone seemed to be enjoying their meal, so maybe takeout just isn’t their thing? All in all, though, we were pretty disappointed in our first experience.

Used to be a great restaurant. The last few times we’ve ordered take out, the quality is questionable at best. Here’s a look at their “fresh” fatty tuna. I unfortunately tried it, and it was not fresh.

If you’re looking for decent sushi at a fair price this is an option. We wanted a small bite before heading to a show and were on the hunt for good, affordable sushi. They have a big menu with lots of options. You get free miso soup which was nice. The prices are standard for a sushi roll. We ordered two very simple rolls and it came out very fast, which was nice. They tasted good and fresh. Also, they were pretty well rolled. Not sloppy or light on the fillings. The biggest downside that brought the stars down was the service. We were hardly talked too despite it being empty. The staff was short and rude and took forever to do anything, from taking our order, bring drinks, paying the check, etc. It’s not a bad place, and for well priced sushi, it’s a good option. I do recommend, just be mindful of the sub par service.

The lighting doesn’t do the photos justice, but it was amazing. Both presentation and taste were phenomenal. Loved the food and the atmosphere. A nice date location or a fun place for a get together amongst family. The prices were decent for a sushi based meal, came out to roughly $20/person.

I used to love this place. Mostly because the food used to taste good (this time it was awful – bland, poorly thrown together). The last 2 times that I came (on time) for my pick-up order, I waited about 20 minutes. This time, I found out that my food was just being made after I waited 15 minutes. I asked for silverware and was told it was in the bag. It was not. So I spent more time going back inside to ask again. I made it to my car just in time to see a lady employee chasing a truck down in the parking lot. (She literally ran after the truck as it drove away.) They just don’t have a handle on things. So sad, really.
