Bob and the staff at The Country House are so very wonderful! I had the BEST tuna ever! The atmosphere is very cozy and bright. Everything on the menu is great! I go every year for Mother’s Day an each year it gets better than the last of that’s even possible. 10/10!

Was so excited to celebrate my birthday here. It’s been impossible to get a reservation. The ambience is amazing and the house itself is uber cute. Unfortunately that’s where it ends here….

All i can say is Perfection! This review is long overdue. I have had two events here, My daughter’s Bridal Shower in May 2021 and my Mom’s 90th Birthday this past week on July 9th 2022 and both events were incredible. Bob the owner of the Country House is amazing!!! First I will begin with his attention to detail, from the way the tables are set with the beautiful fresh flowers is gorgeous. At both of these events the food was suberb, so fresh and deliciously prepared. One of our entrees which was one of the choices for both of these events was salmon. My guests have told me they have never tasted salmon as delectable as they have had at the Country House. All of the food is so outstanding and served beautifully! When giving a party, there are so many things to think and worry about. If you have it here everything will be perfect. I have also been to the Country House for dinners and some of their special events and every time we come it is the ultimate dining experience! Food is always fantastic and dining here is always an experience with the beautiful way it is decorated! Also I must mention the cakes at my events. Bob and his staff make the cakes and they are not only beautiful looking they are incredbily delicious! At both of my events the cake was served with chocolate covered strawberries, ice cream, cheese cake and brownies and other delectables all on one plate and each person gets this. Your guests will be amazed. All of them could not believe each person was served this. I have a photo of the dessert with my review. Also Bob and his staff are so helpful. His staff will help you bring all the gifts to your cars at the end of the event. All I can say is when I want to have any kind of special dinner or event, my first choice will always be the Country House!

Just had my dinner tonight. We ordered drunken clam and Chicken Waikiki. I appreciate the house’s holiday decorations, which I think is the highlight of this restaurant. Today they already have the easter setup with warm lights, bunnies, and beautiful flowers. It is a pretty typical country style American restaurant, as the name means. The food quality is ok. My wife complained the rice noodle is too salty in the drunken clam dish. My chicken waikiki is ok, I love the shrimp and the nice/creative representation with a pineapple at the bottom – very Waikiki! The shrimp is fresh and tender, but chicken is a bit dry and bland. White rice is fine. My wife ordered a Chardonnay – it comes icy and she likes the crispy and dry feeling. My cabernet Sauvignon is average, a bit lack of flavor. Also, the Voss sparking water is not really that sparkling, which I also hope could be offered a cold option or with a glass bottle. Btw, there are also quite a bit of people there on this Friday night. Overall, again, I love the house decoration. If it is a holiday and you want a nice family style place to celebrate with your family and friends, this is your choice.

Decided to try this out tonight for our wedding anniversary and it was phenomenal! Love the low light, country home vibe! Morgan was our server and he was fantastic! Very prompt, with perfect timing in between appetizer, dinner, and dessert! The food was AMAZING from the table bread to the crème brûlée! If you’re a fan of charcuterie, I highly recommend theirs! So Good!! Absolutely exquisite experience from start to finish!

For years now, we’ve made the Country House our family Christmas outing. We generally have between 12 and 15 in our party. This place NEVER disappoints. The holiday menu is limited, but not lacking in any way. I’ve had everything on it, I still can’t pick a favorite. This year, I had the Abominable Snowman salad to start. My entree was the crispy and delicious Half a French Duck. Ce Va? I’d like to say the best I’ve ever had, but I’ve eaten here before. Maybe last time was better, but the Country House is the place to celebrate holidays.

I cannot say enough good things about this magical place! This is by far my favorite restaurant on Long Island. Intrigued by the ghost stories, I was lucky enough to go here first at Christmas. The decor puts the North Pole to shame. The staff are unbelievably friendly and professional and always willing to share a tale… or two! Went back for Valentine’s Day and was again impressed. The filet is fantastic and I recommend any dish with the short rib bolognese. And, if you’re lucky, “Annette” might even stop by

I know a lot of people have raved about the food here but I didn’t have that experience. We were two couples and a 13 year old. To start, my ginger ale was as flat as a board. No biggie those things happen but with only three other tables occupied, you’d think they would have noticed the lack.of bubbles. Only my sister in law and I ordered appetizers. Mine, the French onion soup was pretty awful. No cheese melted on top, it was all at the bottom of the bowl. The broth was terrible, tasted like an old beef bullion cube heated up with dishwater. The amount of onions, or lack of, left a lot to be desired. My sister in law got the cheese/meat platter which she and Tom enjoyed except what was suppose to be fig jam was really honey, I guess they ran out. For entrees, Tom had the littleneck clams over pasta which he liked except the pasta, Angel hair, which was overcooked. My brother said the lobster roll was good, my nephew got the calamari which I tried and thought was quite tasty. My sister in laws spicy wontons were very good. My rotini with braised short rib sauce was again, terrible. No real flavor to the sauce and the rotini was way overdone. I felt the sauce may have been prepared a week or so ago bc there was literally no taste to it and the braised rib meat was so stringy and again, no taste. I’m sure it was good a week ago but not the batch that I got.
