Service sucks, very slow, no knowledge of bar nor drinks. Never received glasses of water with our cocktails. But the chips were fresh and warm and their salsas are really good. Will not return

Nice surprise, best Chile relleno I have had in the Lake Jackson area. Deconstructed with nice heat and diced fajita beef not ground beef. Ready to try more of the menu!

Found a great new go-to place. Food is fresh and satisfying. The staff did well in keeping drinks and chips coming. Only grief was the smell of Fabuloso, or whatever cleaner they were using was noticeable and kinda took away from the taste of the food. Overall, it was a great visit.

This great little mom and pop Tex Mex restaurant has some of the best tasting Tex Mex food this girl has had the pleasure of shoving in her “pie hole” for a very long time! But if you wanna eat here someone in your group will have to yell, “ROAD TRIP!!” And don’t forget to claim “Shotgun” cause the only way to experience this fantastic flavor in your “pie hole” is to drive to Lake Jackson. I was there last week to visit and help care for my Daddy while my stepmom took some more than well deserved time off of her sudden new job title of sole caregiver. But the night before she left, she took us out for dinner at “El Portillo’s” . Upon our entrance we were warmly greeted by the owner who treated us like we were the only ones there. It felt like we walked into her home, not her restaurant. She took us to our table and before we could even think about it the extremely efficient staff had water w/lemon glasses for us (a long forgotten, but still very much appreciated, tradition.) And two baskets of their made in house chips and salsa that were really awesome. But don’t get carried away on the chips and two types of salsa they start you out with, cause what ever you decide to order from the menu, the best is yet to come. I had the Tacos El Carbon that was so delicious it made my taste buds do the “happy dance”. And of course who can resist washing it all down with a perfectly made frozen margarita? We all had a great meal and fine time. So if you’re ever planning a road trip down south do not forget to stop by El Portillo Tex Mex before you head back home. And try the Tacos El Carbon, actually I heard all the Tacos are really good and the enchiladas didn’t get left behind either. I might be wrong, but I thought I caught my brother licking his plate!? Lol!! Ok so go already! It’s totally so worth it!!

The location in Clute never disappoints, we love the papa nachos with Chipotle beef ,chicken and shrimp but we like to eat it like fajitas with all the trimmings!

TBCH this place needs a huge remodeled update as far as atmosphere goes. The food is good and so was the service. A bit over priced in my own opinion.

Pretty good Tex-Mex food in very friendly atmosphere. The owner tools extra time with each group making them feel welcome. Salsa, red & green, we’re both fresh and flavorful. Crispy beef tacos came with the usual rice and beans and a very hot plate. The small parking lot might be problematic on busy evenings.

The service here was really friendly and the food was generally good. We ordered some micheladas which came out fast and they were actually really good. My only complain is that the chicken in the enchiladas was kinda dry:( but everything else was delicious! Would definitely come here.
