Everything about the Minerva is “good,” no doubt. Specially the buffet, gives you an array of different types of food that’s constantly being brought out, replaced etc. The ONLY bad experience I’ve had is via takeout. I’ve called in twice for take-out and both times the lady on the other end just doesn’t seem to give a crap about your order. You can hear her talk to other people while she’s on the phone with you, trying to rush you off the phone. When you get there in person, no smile, no customer service, nothing.. just kinda a “here’s your order, goodbye.”

I had the lunch buffet and it was alright. The presentation was very poor and uninviting but i was able to overlook that. Some of the food tasted off. I love Indian food but this was just a bit different. When i got home i fell sick to my stomach. Maybe this was just a bad day for this restaurant but i won’t be returning. Oh yeah and the customer service is non-existent.

I went there today for takeout. There were two employees present. One was busy taking care of customers and the other was behind a bar talking on the phone. The waiter that was busy acknowledged me as soon as he had a free moment. I told him I would like to do a take out order from the buffet. He told me to go to the lady at the bar to do that.

I would award 2 1/2 Stars if I could currently. I have been ordering once a week for the past couple months from this place. I usually order delivery as I’m pretty close to their restaurant. I order the same thing each time which consists of 1 Butter Chicken Dinner, 1 Chicken Tikka Masala Dinner both with rice, 1 Garlic Naan and 1 Aloo Paratha. On a few occasions I have received 2 Chicken Tikka Masala’s rather than one of each or 2 Butter Chicken’s rather than one of each. Once I give my name or address for delivery I’m usually greeted by a gentleman who remembers me and my order etc (I’m assuming the owner). I make a call tonight and speak with a gentleman who proceeds to tell me that they don’t deliver dinner meals. I state to the gentleman that I’ve had no problems ordering this exact same dinner for the past couple months. The gentleman then proceeds to take my order and then put me on hold. He then comes back on the line and tells me that they don’t have a delivery driver. I would award a higher rating if meals and customer service/delivery were consistent. I don’t know if I will be ordering from here for a while now.

I visited this restaurant 2 years ago and it was flawless, but yesterday when I ordered a butter chicken and Kadai Paneer, it was all raw. The Chicken was all raw and we had to leave the restaurant without completing our dinner. I then went to Masala Wok and had my dinner. Naan were salt less and we just tasted one bite of it and left the dinner as it is. Isn’t it bad when you are so disappointed that you leave your dinner and go to a different restaurant? SUCKS…!!! Spoiled my dinner totally.

The food is decent here but this is the 2nd time I ordered carryout with very little meat. When I pay $14 for lamb I expect more that 6oz of meat. Not Happy! I need to find a new place.

Minerva Restaurants in the Metro DC area seem to get consistently high ratings. I don’t understand this, as someone who is familiar with authentic Indian food, especially north Indian, Minerva is not very good. The food is sub par at best. The Tandoori dishes are chewy and the curries are over spiced.

Last week I went out for a lunch buffet with my family here i.e. Minerva @ Herndon. Lunch started well with my wife feeding my daughter and I was tasting some starters. In no time we realized that we were not eating a regular upma but restaurant management out of love garnished it with roaches Like anyone else would, I told the server that there was a dead cockroach in my food. He, instantly offered me a free buffet for the discovery I made (I totally got pissed off with this)… what the FISH@#$%^&…Am I bothered for a free buffet or scared and angry of feeding a roaches upma to my daughter???

Very low quality of service, few days back I ordered biryani to go. I was in a rush, and could not check. They gave me plain rice, with curry. Very poor!! . Lady at the front desk is a snake, no proper welcoming.
