So very disappointed in the horseshoe and want to warn others as well. I have been waiting 5 years to come to Peoria to visit friends/family and was so excited to get a horseshoe for the first time in many years..wanted crispy golden fries and juicy pork tenderloin atop toast. Well, the toast was the best part about it. The fries were underdone, I get a lot better for a lot cheaper at McDonald’s or Culver’s. The pork tenderloin was so overcooked it was tough and dry, with a quarter of it grisly and fatty? Cut that sh!+ off before you serve it. I would never try this place again, how embarrassing.

We happened to go on a Friday which was one of the nights they were having their “buffet”. The buffet consisted of chicken, fish, ribs and tamales; plus a small salad bar, corn, beans, potatoes and gravy, and a couple of store bought pies. The food was mediocre tasting but hot and always replenished quickly. The wait staff was extremely friendly, answered all of our questions and was just very attentive. The decor was average for a bar/ diner and I did enjoy looking around at some of the military items that decorated the dining room. I’m not sure why there was a treadmill in the corner up near the bar (?) but maybe that was a prize from the holidays.

Passed by Hilltop after a bit of a wrong turn. Got them delivered on a lark and I am absolutely delighted that I did. Ordered their double burger open faced, because it’s one of my standards. Easy to make and if a restaurant can screw that up, Then I’m not ordering anything else. Probably the best open face I have ever had. Ordered the double burger and the chicken open face and Can’t wait to order the rest of the menu. Seriously love the place. My only problem is there are so many choices and it’s hard to choose which one I want to try next. If you have the chance to order from them, or better yet, if you can go in. Go in and order. Just be prepared for amazing food and huge portions.

Been here for lunch many times over the last few months. Very good food and even better prices. Nobody does a $1.99 all-you-can eat salad bar anymore, and the $5.99 lunch specials include many items from a cheeseburger&fries to pulled pork&fries. Definately going back.

We have always had a great experience with their food. The burgers are great, but completely disappointed with the fried mushrooms. They are not your traditional fries mushrooms. Very thin pieces that are breaded and dry inside. Possibly canned mushrooms breaded. I do not recommend the mushrooms, but everything else is great.
