We were in the area visiting and hungry for Italian and with the high ratings we thought this was going to be good. We got garlic knots to start, yeah they were good, but not out of this world. They were served with what I would say, cold flavorless pizsa sauce. As for our main dish, I got the meatball parmigiane. It was basically a step up from canned. The sauce tasted burnt and full of pepper, and the meatballs were the small rubber kind you get from the frozen section at the grocery store. When I go to an Italian restaurant, I expect to be knocked out with their homemade family recipe meatballs, this was not them. The garlic bread also seemed like it was straight from the store. My wife got the ravioli. They were better, with the cream sauce, but nothing to be wowed about. I guess maybe all the great ratings are based on the pizza, not the pasta dishes.

Stellar pizza, best in abingdon for sure. The garlic knots are so good and the owner is very nice. Lovely family restaurant and definitely a highlight of Abingdon.

Wonderful experience at Mamma Mia. The garlic knots are the best and I could have been happy with just those! Will go back to try the famous pizza!!

First time here. Small place, but quaint, with atmosphere. Oh, and the pizza was one of the best I have had in a while.

Solid Italian diner right off of downtown. The atmosphere is very laid back and positive. All the service was phenomenal. I generally felt cared for. The food came out quickly and was delicious. The Stromboli was delicious

My ravioli and my husband’s lasagna were excellent! The only issue I had was the garlic knot rolls. They were burnt. Which totally ruined the flavor. For $8.99 an order you should get perfect garlic knot rolls. I have had these at other restaurants and they were delicious and cost less. So very disappointed with these. Other than that the food was very good.

Just went in on the recommendation of my chef. THIS IS THE BEST PIZZA IN THIS AREA!!! You can taste the freshness of the ingredients, the sauce is well balanced, the cheese is rich and not overly salty, the crust is perfectly cooked, and the char on the toppings give it another layer of flavor. You will not want to eat at another pizzeria in the area after you’ve eaten here. I can’t wait to go back and will be telling others about this place. Cather was attentive, friendly and quick to grab my order. AMAZING 10/10

We had a half-cheese half-pepperoni pizza and it was very good. The pizza was light and the perfect amount of greasiness, making it one of my favorite pizza places in Bristol.

Party of 4 greeted at the door by the hostess upon entering, we were told there’s only a tight booth available in the back corner for a group of 4. We said we would give it a shot and she proceeded to look us up and down and insist the booth was small. After some more back and forth she stated we were tall and there was no leg room…nice save. We should’ve left at this point. I then said our party could split up and take the two open booths directly in front of the entrance. After being seated I noticed almost every table had someone sitting at the end of their table or pulled apart booths because of tight seating. I understand the desire to seat as many tables as possible for profit, but maybe consider a reevaluation of table arrangement for customer comfort because the food, staff and atmosphere all add to the customer experience. That said, the food was tasty but 3 out of 4 of our dishes were cold and one of our tables didn’t receive the bread with their pasta dishes as indicated on the menu. I was unaware of this until after we left the restaurant and ‘reunited’ or I would have simply asked the waitress for it. The interior is beautiful and authentically created with a nice selection of music videos playing for all tastes and viewable to all seating.
