With a modern menu, plenty of character, and one of the coziest neighborhood atmospheres, Le Sel Bistro is one of Tacoma’s hidden little gems. A beautiful view of Commencement Bay paired with either a classic French brunch or comfort warming supper. Le Sel has been voted the #1 French Restaurant in the South Sound for several years and will not disappoint!

Le Sel simply does it best. Stopped in for brunch on my 30th birthday last week; I had the banana French toast and my partner had the steak Benedict. They even boxed up a cinnamon roll and pastry for me as a take home treat. Amazing service (sweetest server and bartender), fabulous coffee, delectable food. You must stop in!

A new brunch spot for us, and now that we’ve tasted a couple of items, oh, man, we’ll return. We walked in the door and immediately felt enveloped in a snug, warm environment. Friendly faces, and though we had to wait a bit, the stress level was nil. Sun was peaking in the window overlooking the water, and we enjoyed seeing out. The Croque Madam was amazing! Thickest soft slice of Brioche ever, which it had to be to hold the thin slices of smoked ham, béchamel sauce, and a perfect sunny side egg. The texture was the best.

Cutest restaurant here!! Love all the details and the chandeliers! We sat on the garden balcony since indoors is 21+. Beautiful views!! The filet mignon eggs Benedict was perfect they don’t have any high chairs…? So we had to stack seat cushions

Small but mighty French bistro in the stadium district. My family and I went for brunch this past weekend and enjoyed a wonderful meal. The decor is shabby-chic and the balcony has a view of the tide flats. The menu had a number of French standards – Croque Madame, French onion soup, Brie, with a lovely selection of other brunch favorites including a wide selection of Benedicts. We had a Jambon de Paris omelette, a BAT Benedict, a mushroom forager with five types of local mushrooms, and a mushroom omelette with gruyere, goat cheese, tomatoes, and mushrooms. Of course, it wouldn’t be brunch without mimosas, in this case pear and ginger mimosas, and a couple French press coffees. Service was friendly overall it was wonderful meal. If you go reservations are a must and plan on a leisurely brunch. The kitchen is small and food is made to order so it will takes some time. But when you are in the mood to linger, I highly recommend this place.

Bella is a fantastic waitress. The staff is friendly, the food is always phenomenal, and they’re fast!! My fiancé and I made birthday reservations for the deck and we were in and out in under an hour (without being rushed) and the food was so good. Highly recommend the eggs Benedict!

If I could give a score higher than 5 stars, i would. This checks all the boxes. Outstanding ambiance, food and people. Its the little things that put it over the top (french press coffee, french cutlery, expertly decorated, genuinely welcoming staff). This is my new favorite place. I recommend making reservations ahead of time. Thank you for a great experience!

Had reservations for brunch, was sat 45 mins after reservation time with little communication from staff. Seated service was attentive except for food arriving almost an hour after ordering. We ordered avocado toast, so little cooking was required. Cut ambiance, food was decent, service meh.

Not a full review at this time. I will update as soon as I can actually get past the front door. I attempted to eat lunch there today (Saturday) but was told that I should have made a reservation 3 days ahead of time. Really? For lunch on a Saturday?
