My sister brought me and my daughter here. I didn’t know Rapid City even had an A&W. I was so excited to try it. Let me tell you, it was amazing! I didn’t know what to order and had a ton of questions for the order taker. He answered every one of them patiently and thoroughly. I got the Coney dog and cheese curds w a Root Beer float. The cheese curds were the best I’ve ever had. Even after they got cold, because I eat slow, they were still soft and delicious. Usually I toss cheese curds after they cold because they get hard but these ones didn’t. The Coney dog was pretty good too. The nacho cheese on top was the kicker for me. Idk I enjoy food and it’s really rare for me to enjoy eating out because somehow I always end up disappointed but not here. I HIGHLY recommend A&W in Rapid City, SD. The area was off Deadwood Ave. and so it was quiet and really enjoyable. The kids meal was so cute. It had crayons and a coloring book, a toy and a small book. It nice, really nice to have places like this still. I enjoyed my experience there and will definitely be making this a regular place for my family when we go to Rapid City.

Website said 11am open and got here at 11:01. Called gas station they said give them 5 minutes.. still sitting here at 11:15 am and Haven’t even got acknowledged at the drive threw.

Waited over 20 minutes to order while in the drive through. Then moved up to the window and was recited back the wrong order. Was informed at the window that they were out of more of the food that I ordered. Waited another 15 minutes to get my food. Once I got my food, then ended up forgetting one of my burgers. I was told that I had to wait for the rest of the food due to them being short staffed. And they also messed up one of the burgers and put all the fixings on it.

It’s always been one of my favorites to have a meal. I enjoy the freeze beverage. The root beer is still excellent . The burgers are made to order, always so delicious. The staff always so friendly and welcoming.

I grew up with A&W in my hometown and I wanted to share that with my kids. This was worth traveling across town for, and I wasn’t disappointed in the least. I did have to remind them of a couple things I ordered but they immediately made them without complaint.

Worst customer service I have ever experienced. We got our order taken by an incredibly impatient and disrespectful young man. We were the only people in the drive thru. We sat at the closed window for 5 minutes before having our payment taken. We received our food and unfortunately did not check our bag before leaving. They left out the fries from our order, our pops were only 3/4 full. We paid $17 for horrible service, a burger and a chili cheese dog. Do not suggest going here until they get their act together.
