The food and service at the restaurant was excellent. We had breakfast every morning here. The French toast is made to perfection. The servers were all extremely polite and attentive. Especially Julian who served us on the last night. Well done, will be visiting again.

My recent visit to The Restaurant at Newport Harbor Island Resort was nothing short of a disaster. The poor service, unprepared meals, and disrespectful behavior from the staff left a lasting negative impression on me and my dining companions. I feel compelled to share my experience to warn others and hopefully encourage the management to improve their service.

Delightfully creative and inspired cuisine such as poached lobster in a house made fermented siracha sauce and wild sea bass on a bed of ravioli to satisfy the most intrepid foodie, but thank goodness for the more traditional menu items, especially the excellent kids menu for our littles! Very grateful to Dominick and Xander for elevating our dining experience with exceptional service. The sunset views cannot be beat! Can’t wait to return!

We weren’t sure what to expect from a “hotel restaurant”, but Showfish was better than we thought it would be. They have a nice menu selection and the food was upscale in quality and presentation. We were there a little late for the season and mostly had the place to ourselves. The waiter was attentive and helpful. We would go again.

If I could leave negative 5 stars I would. We made a reservation for dinner at the restaurant which requires a credit card to hold the reservation and will charge if you have a cancellation or change to your headcount with less than 24 hours notice. I thought, ok, well they must be in high demand and must be a great place for dinner so I didn’t mind that. After having had dinner there on the 4th of July with my family of 6, I would have preferred to be charged $150 to save us the horrible experience and terrible food we endured instead for nearly $700. First off, there were so much staff, yet it looked like no one knew what they were supposed to be doing. We sat down, and three different people one after the other asked us what kind of water we wanted, but not one could take our drink order. Then I asked 2 different people if they were going to send over our waiter and no one had an answer “ let me check for you” was all that could be advised. We finally got a waiter to take our drinks order and it took about 35 mins for the drinks to arrive. There were 2 other tables there besides us. It was 5:30pm and they had just opened. The food was horrendous. They have a $62 pork chop which my father ordered and it arrived overdone and dry. The $68 filet comes with nothing except a roasted garlic bulb garnish and a choice of sauce on the side. We ordered a duck pate appetizer that was inedible. Even my son’s hot dog was a over cooked shriveled up mess. The whole experience was terrible. I really hope they can get it together soon because it’s such a nice property. When it was Gurney’s it was worlds better than this. Don’t waste your time and money.

Came here for a date night and it did not disappoint. The restaurant itself is clean and well lit, but they did dim the lights around 730 which added to the ambience. We ordered the sangria as well as the tuna and oysters from the raw bar; everything was very fresh. We also ordered the lobster gnocchi which as UNREAL. We were so full we ended up ordering some short rib ragu to go; even warmed up later at home it was delicious. On top of it all, our waitress Joielle was attentive, professional and prompt. We did not wait very long at all for drinks or food, even though she had multiple tables. She was very sweet. Overall great experience and we will definitely be returning for more date nights.

It was supposed to be a fun brunch for my friends birthday, but this so-called dining experience was an absolute disaster, riddled with incompetence, disrespect, and a complete lack of accountability from the management.
