I had never heard of this restaurant until a family member from out of state sent me a link as a suggestion to cater our grandson’s first birthday party. We were expecting 80 people (adults and children) – he is a miracle baby and this was a big celebration! We wanted to make sure there was enough food that both adults and children would enjoy. Paula was so patient and gracious to us as we went back and forth about what we wanted, even changing the menu at the last minute. She was also extremely helpful and gave us the perfect suggestions for a crowd our size, with something for everyone. She even made a low sodium option for my husband who is on a renal diet. We ended up with two pasta dishes and two kinds of panini sliders, with garlic bread bites and a complimentary tray of cookies. Everything was incredibly delicious, and we had tons of food! Everyone raved about it and commented it was like food at a wedding reception. The panini sliders were a huge hit! This is not your typical Italian food – it is high quality cuisine, and you can tell it is “made with love” as my husband says – and very reasonably priced especially for the quality. Lastly, Paula’s husband, Anthony, delivered the meal all the way to Bernheim Forest where we had the event. We were running behind and it was so chaotic when he got there – but he was so gracious and helpful, and even brought a birthday gift Paula had gotten for our grandson! Our entire experience with them was wonderful. They served us well, and we’ll definitely go back. They are busy, so if you don’t get a call back, be patient – it will be well worth the wait!

I attended an event that was catered with Black Italian. Food was excellent. The salad and dressing were incredible–I know it doesn’t seem like much but I wanted to drink the dressing. The fruit lemonade was also amazing! I’m a vegetarian and there were veggie options available which was standard fare.

This place is the best!! The owners and staff are very friendly and personable. Their food is absolutely delicious. If you need someone to cater your next party/gathering, look no further than The Black Italian. They can do it all! Truly, they deliver quality food, quality service, and always with a smile on their faces. I have not once had a bad experience here and I think it is due to their dedication to provide Louisville with super tasty and affordable food. Do yourself a favor and try them if you haven’t. Tens across the board every single time!!! The Black Italian not only has delicious food but also amazing service. The owners are the most warm and welcoming people you’ll ever meet! My family and I are OBSESSED with the Formaggio with Chicken pasta (and obsessed may be an understatement)! I can’t think of anything negative to say about this place, not even in the slightest. Whether you order take out or catering you will be pleased. I leap at the chance to sing praises about them and I know once you try them you’ll do the same!

I was so excited to finally try this place. My wife and I live about 25 miles away in Shepherdsville. We looked at their website and had to wait until 1:00 PM to place the order. I called and read the order off the website . We ordered three of the 6 Meatballs with marinara and garlic bread We figured we make some pasta so when i got home we had a complete meal. When I got home there was NO bread. My wife called and they simply told my wife sorry the website is wrong. WHY DIDNT YOU TELL US THAT WHEN WE ORDER OFF THE WEBSITE!!!!!!!!!!!! aLSO TE MARINARA IS LIKE A QUARTER CUP FOR SIX MEATBALLS. mAKE SURE YOU FIGURE THAT IN WHEN ORDERING AS WE DID NOT.

We also are more than happy to support a black owed and prominently woman based establishment. Paula made the ordering effortless and had our food personally delivered!!
