My son and I took a trip downtown and just happened upon this place. We were welcomed as we came in and found a seat. The wait staff was quick with our drinks and made a few suggestions for what to try. My son got the cardiac arrest burger which he said was one of the best he’s had, and I tried their famous Philly. All of our food was hot, fresh, and well seasoned. The atmosphere was relaxed, with lots of TV’s and cool memorabilia around the walls. I appreciate that they have daily food and drink specials. I plan to go back and try their award winning wings. All in all a great place to grab a hot bite to eat.

Got wings and fries to go. The wings were good but small and a little pricey. The sauce was good, spicy bbq. The fries I didn’t know were battered fries and I’m really not a fan of, but my daughter loved them. The blue cheese wasn’t too bad either.

It’s a 4 out of 5 star place. That usually means nothing special and doesn’t provide me a memorable reason to return. Our meal was satisfying and just OK – I call this style food “bar food” and no doubt that’s where your eating so it’s probably to be expected. Just a decent place, but not a place that would score high enough to make me wanna tell people about it or recommend it.

Last night my husband and I stopped in for a late night bite. We sat down and it was about 5minutes before the waitress greeted us. When she came she was polite. We tried to order the dozen wings with 2 flavors and she told us that wasn’t allowed so we ordered 6 wings each and fries and onion rings. We received our food and began to eat. About half way through our meal the security guard that works there began to throw disinfectant water on the floor which was pretty fragrant and we immediately lost our appetite. We didn’t fuss about it and asked for to go boxes. We packed our food up and proceeded to check out. We didn’t leave a tip because of the disinfectant which this particular waitress was cleaning up to go home and that was unprofessional. As we were leaving the waitress came behind us and asked ” Was there something wrong with my service”? We replied no. She then said “per our policy it is mandatory that you leave a tip or next time you will not be welcomed back”. Before I can even get a word out my husband reached into his pocket and gave her $5 and she then walked away with an attitude. I have worked food service for many years and I have never ever heard of such policy and it was not posted any where in the establishment. So moving forward please make your patrons aware of this so called “policy” before they sit down and eat because you never know a person situation. And secondly if you need to hire more staff to accommodate your weekend crowds please do so.

This past weekend was my first time at Woodys. I was so pumped because my friends raved about how good the wings were (they had only been to the Cary location). When we got there, the waitress (that works the evening shift), took our orders. The menu has a memo that informs to the customer: “if you want your wings extra crispy, it will take an additional 20 minutes”.

A downtown bar with great lunch specials! Our server was friendly, attentive, and made wonderful menu recommendations. I love seasoned french fries, but mine tasted pretty salty (not enough to ruin the meal). I would definitely recommend this place for a quick bite.

We were in town over the weekend from our small town that we are used to. The bars and restaurants there are very different than what we are used to. But we discovered woodys and ended up stopping in there every day. Dive bar feel, great and friendly service, reasonably priced and cold beer, and food was excellent. Highly recommend for a chill and friendly atmosphere.
