First time here was great. Food and service was great. It’s a bit pricey, but everywhere seems to be now. We had a raw bar medley, steak, lobster tail, tuna steak, dessert and three drinks. Bill was about 175. There was a nice mixed age crowd on Friday and there was a band. Not many twenty something year olds. This is a great spot for adults.

The food here is inedible. We got the steak sandwich and it was so rubbery and chewy we couldn’t even eat it. We both took one bite and spit it out. Told the waiter and he said the owner buys the cheapest steak possible and agrees that it’s terrible. Offered us a free dessert but didn’t take the sandwich we didn’t eat off the bill. We declined the dessert as we just wanted to get out of there. We also got the shrimp tacos which weren’t terrible but still not great. It doesn’t appear the owners care about the quality of food at all.

Went to dinner with another couple. First time at Putnam House. The waitress was amazing. However, three out of four dishes were not acceptable especially considering the prices. The Mahi Mahi tacos were deep-fried and disgusting, I could not even chew the flat iron steak, another person got shrimp and scallops with pasta, it was all pasta. The margaritas didn’t taste like margaritas. Will not be going back. Stopped at McDonald’s to get food after.

Beautiful decor. Much bigger than expected from the outside. Very inexperienced bartenders, but very friendly.

I went here for my birthday dinner. We have been seeing the restaurant passing it by while going here and there. We decided to try it out. First of all the decor was really nice, The waiters, the hostess, the bartenders and really all the servers are absolutely wonderful. I would give service a five star. There are great TVs including a really big one by the stage so I’m assuming they have live entertainment from time to time which is pretty awesome and nice for the area. The appetizers are great. We tried the giant pretzel and the chicken wings. I would rate the two appetizers that we’ve tried as five-star. However my entrée which was the ribeye which was $58 and the chicken marsala which my mom had and the burger which my husband had were so subpar I would equate it with worse than diner fare. If you’re going to charge Manhattan style prices then I would expect the taste and the quality to be equal or at least close to Manhattan style steak houses. I took a few bites of my steak and I just did not finish it. My baked potato was basically something I could’ve cooked in my microwave. In a steakhouse you don’t expect to get butter in little packets that you have to unwrap either but that’s what we got when we asked for butter for my baked potato and the bread. For dessert I had the chocolate lava cake. It’s funny that it’s chocolate lava cake and there was no lava whatsoever because the cake was cooked completely through. The bathrooms were beautiful. Very modern and very clean. I don’t know if the entrées are cooked by a different chef than the appetizers were but you would think you were eating in two different restaurants with the difference in the food quality between the appetizers & the entrees. I don’t think I’ll be back to this restaurant unless whoever manages or owns this restaurant gets a better chef. I truly think if that happens this restaurant has a real chance not only of surviving but thriving and becoming a great part if not the best part of the eateries in the area.

Very disappointing. Steak was tough and overcooked. Atmosphere is surprisingly cavernous and not homey. They do have a stage and live capability. Mostly bar atmosphere.

It was a little pricey but the food was good and the atmosphere was really nice. It has a stage for live music, and there are televisions at the bar that show sports. I will be visiting again.

Firstly, shame on the management for having such few waitstaff on a Saturday night. Seems like a staffing or scheduling error was partially to blame for our upsetting experience. Our lovely waitress had at least seven tables she was doing her best to manage, while dealing with a band playing. I know none of the experience had to do with the team on the floor. I ordered the Burrata, which came out as Pancetta. One is cheese, the other is a slab of pork belly. After I sent it back, it took the kitchen 23 minutes to get me a simple appetizer. When it arrived, I gawked. There was a ball of mozzarella that clearly was not fresh, and not correctly prepared as burrata. It was laden atop a rock-hard slice of tomato. The crostini bread listed in the menu that it came with which I excited for, showed up as a dinner roll. The peppers were bland and had the consistency of a mealy peach. Listen, if the food were reasonably priced, I would not complain, but twelve dollars for what I got was absolutely a rip-off. The quality of ingredients is truly not a priority for this place; one that has prices which would make one hope attention to simple detail and quality would be a priority. Avoid this establishment, if you have a choice. Our night was a true failure of management, as the staff were all very kind.

The food was good, but they don’t have the MSG channel. How the hell are you gonna have a 30 foot HD Screen and 4 gorgeous TV’s and not offer local sports to your patrons? No Knicks or Rangers in NY!!! GTFOH. For $50 per month you’re losing local sports fans that would spend thousands!!! The owner is clueless as to the needs of the people
