Sushi was good. The place didn’t turn on AC until near end of the meal. You could hear all surrounding tables completing it was hot inside. Service after taking the order then delivering the ordered meal didn’t come back until three key had the tab in hand.

The staff was very nice I was getting some food to go. One of the rolls I ordered had eel in it and was fried. Well the eel was a very fridged temperature not soft at all. I’ve never had a crunchy roll like that so cold before. I cant imagine its supposed to be that cold of a temperature. The taste was good but would have been better had they not made it so cold. I usually like this place but I was greatly disappointed this time. 3 years later Update: Here again much better this time food was hot and flavorful.

I had one of the special rolls and the unagi nigiri (I wanted saba, but they were out). The pieces of eel were big on the nigiri, but it felt like they were skimping on the fish in the roll (and there was too much avocado muting out the flavor of the other ingredients). Overall I was disappointed for the price I paid. Staff was nice and service was quick, though.

We had a lovely graduation celebration at Ninja Sushi this evening and it was excellent. We ordered appetizers like egg rolls, tempura, and calamari. For dinner, several guests had the dinner boxes. Several people ordered from the “roll” options. My husband had the seafood spicy ramen soup, and I had teriyaki chicken. Our two meals came with salad and mine also came with miso soup. Each meal was not just overwhelming large, but also very delicious. Most everyone had to take home the leftovers. The restaurant decor isn’t much to write home about, but the restaurant was clean. The restrooms were clean, as well. Prices were reasonable considering the size of the portions and fresh ingredients. If you’re in the mood for sushi and other Japanese dishes, we encourage you to try Ninja Sushi in Gilroy.
