It was a very busy Friday night when we last went. So it was a tight squeeze. The service was hustling. I had the fish and chips, and it was definitely the best fish I’ve had in a long time. We only recently started going back here. The new ownership has made a pleasant change in the atmosphere. Great beer selection and something on the menu for everyone.

Worth every second of the drive, a Chef is blessing Mathews here, not just a cook. Light and airy burger buns and pizza dough both taste homemade, topped with delicious meats and cheeses, fresh veggies, and all great quality. Love their specials and desserts, will return just for a pie for birthdays, everything is incredible.

The restaurants in Deltaville were full at 8pm on a Friday night in early October which was unexpected, so our group of five friends drove to Mathews to get pizza. We called and ordered ahead, a Rigby Island pizza and a New Pointe pizza. When we arrived they were getting ready to close but the staff said we could sit on the porch to eat which was super nice of them. They served us drinks and dessert as if we had ordered for dine in. We were so happy to have such friendly and welcoming service since it was so late. Our waiter Michael was wonderful and we will certainly be back. That buttermilk parmesan dressing they have is worth the drive.

My wife and I enjoyed walking around the town, everyone we met was friendly. The historic courthouse area was interesting to see. We took quite a few photos. My wife bought a cute purse at “Cattails gifts” and a couple sweaters and 2 pair of cool socks for me from “The Cottage”.

The food was very good as was the service. We dined on the porch and it was the perfect day for it. I had (and thoroughly enjoyed!) one of the specials, the flounder po’ boy. The only down side was that they are understaffed like everyone else these days and that led to tables not being bussed in a timely manner. If you know someone in need of work, send them to a local restaurant!

Our food was absolutely delicious. We had so much, we had supper for tonight. The service was wonderful. The server was attentive, knew the menu well, kept our p.ates cleared, and drinks refilled. It was clean and has a unique atmosphere, a wonderful Valentines Day. Thank you !
