Excellent tagine, dessert, and service! Had the fish with parsley chermoula and mixed veg tagine and wow! It was perfectly balanced with some figs for a hint of sweetness. I added a bit of the very spicy harissa dip for a tomatoey spice kick. The cheesecake with rose sauce and pistachios was an excellent finish.

I loved it here! If we didn’t live so far away I would definitely visit far more often. The food was amazing (I had the lamb meatball tagine with poached eggs with moroccan ‘cigars’ as an appetizer), the drinks were great (I had a mixed drink I can’t remember the name of and a plenty of hot tea refills), staff were all very nice and attentive, and the decor is some of my favorite I’ve seen! Keep in mind service is a bit on the slower end, but the staff were still great and a good tagine can’t be rushed 🙂 Get some appetizers for the wait and you won’t regret a thing.

This is my girlfriend’s favorite place (her name is also Tara). Pretty pricy, but everything is so good. Appetizers alone are worth dining in for.

Get the lamb tagine! The splurge is worth it 100% – the lamb simply melts in your mouth. I got the lamb with fava beans, Seasame seeds, and artichoke- It’s full of beautiful complex flavors in a rich, warm sauce. The wait staff is delightful and the atmosphere is warm and inviting. The included tea is mint with honey and it is simply delicious. Perfect stop for a chilly winter day!

Really great food, there really is something for everybody! The staff were so kind and made the atmosphere feel very warm and welcoming. Will definitely be going again 🙂

Fantastic food and service, no complaints, however a little more menu variety would be nice.

Everything here is well made and I’ve loved about 95% of it. The pita with harissa or olive tapenade is a great appetizer. There are many tasty tagine entrees and the golden chicken is mind blowingly good. Even the wines tried there are above average. Recommend in the highest possible terms.

While the food we did get was fabulous, this was a disappointing outing. We had guests in from out of town and the first place we wanted to take them was Tara’s Kitchen as we have had fabulous outings to the location in Schenectady. This time we decided to try the Troy location. We were the only guests in the restaurant on a Wednesday evening. We were seated and the server came over for a drink/appetizer order. When trying to order a drink I was told – Oh, we don’t have that one I don’t know why it is still on the menu we haven’t had it in a long time. Ok, not a big deal and another drink was selected. When ordering an appetizer – also told – Oh, not sure if we have that one and then when asked to describe what was in another appetizer they reply was – yeah, I’m not sure. I can appreciate not knowing but possibly saying I’m not sure let me check and I’ll be right back would have been a better option. After receiving drinks and appetizers – which were excellent! We were asked for entrée orders. Once again, when selecting an entrée, we were told – Oh, we don’t have any of the plate options, only the tagine options. Again, I would suggest starting off telling people what is available and what is not when they are seated. Not having any of the plate options does take out half the menu. Anyway, dinners were ordered and the food did not disappoint. The flavors were delicious as always! Truly my observation is only related to service – an effort should be made to train the servers. I would probably not return to the Troy location but would definitely do take out or go back to the Schenectady location. The food is top notch!

Came here to try something new in Troy for lunch. I had the “build your own plate” with the lamb meatballs, eggplant, harissa and the parsley sauce. It was really good. Large plate, which was great since I had not had breakfast. They gave me some tea with the meal which was lovely.

This was a first time there. Service was excellent from the time we walked in until we left. Our server was fantastic. He was very polite, explained the food item and recommendations for us. Everyone is given a glass of water and also house tea. We started out with 2 appetizers, grilled scallops. 5 large scallops, only needed a fork cooked perfectly. Also had the eggplant plant dip. Excellent choice, do not let the name fool you if you are not a eggplant eater, you will never know it is in there. One dish was shrimp, scallops, fish. This is in a tomato chermoula. Comes with side of rice. Second dish was chicken with tomato jam, spicy harissa and figs. Desert was Baklava, very big piece, slightly warm. Would recommend going here.
