Pretty poor overall. We stopped after MOA closed and this is one of the few places close by open until 11 for later night dinners. Wonton soup was very bland, almost no flavor in broth. Chicken wings were average, no particular flavor but juicy enough. Mandarin chicken was terrible. I think they forgot the sauce? Veggies had lots of unflavored oil and chicken was dry. Sezuan beef was mostly veggies but flavor was ok. People were nice but the food was borderline terrible considering the prices. Do not recommend at all.

Old style Chinese restaurant with friendly atmosphere! I enjoy coming here especially during lunch. My recommendation is human shrimp.

This is the absolute cutest little place ever. The perfect place, family-run. Everyone there was so kind and the food was freshly made after you ordered. Everything we ate was crazy amazing. Great priced for the large portion of food you get. And you can taste all of the love and care put into the cooking. Our waiter was so kind and was watching out for us as he knew we were driving back down south and had gotten an alert on his phone that there was an ice storm warning out that night. This was such a great experience, I will definitely come back here again as I woke up and am already craving more chicken and broccoli and their steamed dumplings❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤ Dont pass this place up, you will be so glad you went.

1st Wok is one of the best Chinese restaurants in the Twin Cities area! The food is always fresh and amazing and the staff are friendly and attentive. My experiences here have always been phenomenal, but today’s experience was especially over the top. My waiter attended to every need I had before I even realized I had them. I wanted for absolutely nothing and left extremely happy.

They used to be better, but changed some of their recipes a few years ago. $$ wins again. The fried rice is whatever now. Steamed dumplings and cheese wontons are still good. The egg rolls are unimaginative. People still go because the location is good but the restaurant is trapped in 70s decor and the parking lot is more gravel than pavement. Definitely showing its age. There’s a second one by Lake Calhoun that’s cleaner and has modern decor. For a date, go there if you like the food here, go there. It’s the same menu but you won’t feel dirty after unsticking your butt from the booth.

This is the best Chinese place in the south metro. Great service and a great value for lunch. Their egg rolls are the best I have ever encountered. Hot and Sour soup, and Human Chicken are my favorites but they also do Sichuan very well. Iced tea was also very good. A hidden gem!

I often order to pick up but there is great service when I eat in-house too: attentive without being overbearing, food comes out quickly. Great food: nice pieces of meat without the odd bits that you’d find elsewhere. Light breading that isn’t heavy or greasy. Nice sauces that have good flavor and consistency. My favorites are the Egg Drop Soup and the Kung Pao Chicken. Good lunch specials!

The garlic sauce is the best I’ve had in Minnesota! I didn’t love the mango chicken, but I didn’t hate it. The waiter was fantastic! He was funny and even left the water chestnuts out of the mango chicken after I didn’t get them in my vegetable dish. We will definitely go back.
