The food here was excellent and all from local sources. It is a large restaurant with three different seating areas depending on what atmosphere you’re after. The front is with the bar and was loud. We chose to be seated at the back where it was quieter. Thursday’s seem to be the least busy. The staff were really nice, welcoming and attentive. Portions are good sizes too but the prices are high. If I could give half star ratings it would be 4.5 star experience.

The interiors and the aura was really good. The risotto was very filling and the cocktail was tangy and a little bitter.

We just had an amazing date night and dinner at the Firebox! We searched for something new and different in Hartford and this came up on google.

I came here with my boyfriend after work for a happy hour and early dinner. We sat in the bar area and ordered some of the special happy hour drinks. The happy hour appetizers were well priced, however I will say I felt the entrees were a little more on the pricey side. However the food was extremely delicious. It’s also nice that they have a parking lot right outside.

The best restaurant in Hartford hands down. Organic, local, farm table, all kinds of local goodies really well prepared and awesome craft cocktails. Great staff as well. I come to CT once a week from NYC and this place holds it own. I

Chicken liver mousse was great! Salads are huge and delicious. Good service and nice atmosphere.

Great interior, refurbished factory – mich bigger than you realize from the street. The food is outstanding! The octopus appetizer was so tender and flavorful. Our friends ordered the camembert and fig jam… The jam was beyond delicious. My husband ordered the soft shell crab and it was prepared perfectly. Dinner: My salmon was cooked to a turn, just the way I ordered it and the accompaniments made it a superb dish. Or friends had the scallops and she was extremely happy – tender and flavorful. Her husband ordered the stuffed pork tenderloin – it looked like a work of art and tasted amazing! But, my husband ordered the duck… It stole the show! The best duck we’ve ever had (I kept stealing bites!) – so moist and tender – it was as if they had gone hunting that morning it was so fresh! The raspberry sauce which accompanied this dish was excellent. We shared The Salted chocolate pudding, the lemon curd and honey bread pudding and the carrot cake for dessert. Each one of them was outstanding! The only thing that was disappointing with the basket of bread they brought when we first ordered drinks… it was very plain and rather dry. But if you think about it, if the only thing that has a negative critique is the bread then you know this is great place for dinner!

Firebox never anything but amazing. Every experience I’ve had dining there has been incredible—both in terms of food and service. Last night’s dinner was the best I have ever had. In a packed restaurant with many of us dining before a Bushnell show, we had to wait a bit to be served. Management and our waitress responded impeccably, showing that this restaurant is one of a kind even with a full house.

Reliably my favorite restaurant in Hartford! Creative, although unpretentious, cuisine. Plates look good – something rare in the vicinity – and staff is lovely. Short seasonal menu. Great wine selection. Wonderful people really. I need to save in order to pay the bill but, really, never had to regret it.
