My wife wanted to go try this place supposed to be authentic Mexican food, her friend at work kept telling her to go try it , so finally went last night and I do not know if it is just me growing up with the real Mexican flavor of authentic Mexican food but . It is a sad that they consider this place a a Mexican food. I ordered the green chicken enchilada and my wife the nachos. Princess are a little over the top. And food is just bad no flavor what so ever. I took a couple of bites and so did my wife and that was it. We couldn’t finish it. Also their salsa and chips is a scam. Almost 50 dollar for everything. Not worth it in my opinion.

Let me say right up front, this ain’t yo mama’s good ol beanery. It’s different from almost any Mexican restaurant I’ve ever been too. I should also warn you that the chips and salsa do not flow freely by the pound like they at some other Mexican joints. They charge for them at Provecho’s. That being said, they are really great chips and the Salsa is obviously home made. I get it, they are shooting for something different than the average South of the Border place that captures its clientele by offering a free for all, stuff your face festival of beans, chips, and rice.

Love Provecho! Their chips, salsa and guacamole is the best in Vancouver. We get it take out whenever we have people over. I highly recommend them!

We were going to eat here, but arrived 15 minutes before they apparently open. So we went over to Yogurt Time to wait. Came back out around 10 min after they opened to a big “TOW THIS CAR” note on my windshield. Despite their parking lot being otherwise COMPLETELY empty, they made a rash decision and lost all of me, my girlfriend, and friends’ money. Hope they don’t need it!

We arrived at Provecho just a bit too early, and they were still closed. Since we had a bit of time to spare, we decided to pop into a cute little vintage shop directly next door to pass the time instead of just sitting in the car. Imagine our surprise when we returned to the car WITHIN 20 MINUTES to place our purchases in it & get ready to eat, and we discovered a $45 parking ticket from a privately hired company on behalf of the owners of Provecho (the space we parked in was designated for their customers with a little sign). So, because we parked in a “Provecho” spot, but could not immediately enter their establishment because THEY WERE CLOSED, we were gifted with a pre-meal parking ticket. Not exactly the appetizer I was looking forward to. The ticket language is hostile, threatens to increase the “fine” to $85 if it is paid more than 15 days from today, and further threatens collection agency action. They literally must have some person just sitting there WAITING to hop on cars that roll up even 5 minutes before they open at 3, and don’t you even think about gazing at a neighboring business while waiting for the doors to unlock! Great welcome wagon, robbing people before they even step foot in the door, we won’t EVER be giving you another try as a result of this outlandish strong-arming. And I’ll be sure to let everyone else I know that you’re operating some sort of shady & punitive racket in the lot. It looked as if we were set to be the ONLY customer looking for food from Provecho at that hour, as the rest of their precious spots were empty, too bad they’re more interested in charging for pavement than impressing customers.

The food is amazingly good. Everything from tacos to tortas to deserts it all tastes pretty close to the authentic recipes. The drinks are spot on and strong and the service is friendly. I definitely recommend the steak or chicken quesadilla with chips and salsa or guacamole and I margarita.

Growing up in So Cal, this is certainly authentic Mexican food. It’s not just authentic, it’s delicious. Good portions and very well done. Had the Carne Asada Burrito. So big I had to wrap up half for lunch! And the guacamole! Made in house from scratch and that’s probably why I didn’t finish the burrito: because I ate all of the guac! Well done. Very well done.

Beside the high prices here (two simple meals and two margaritas w/o tip was about $60) I don’t understand their attitude. When you walk in to pick up your order, the first thing you hear is that an unfriendly person tells you (almost ordering you) to go to that corner and sit on that hard bench till your name is called. First of all, the customers are not hired by you to treat them like that, in fact in America, the customers are to hire the restaurant staff to follow their orders. In addition, why individuals like me who are suffering from arthritis pain and can not sit on a hard surface, don’t have the freedom of standing in a corner or just waiting outside, but it sounds like you are dictating them to stay out of your way, this is rude.

We were going to eat here and walked into the vintage store before hand real quick and went to our car to put some stuff in it and noticed the owner had put a note on our car saying it was getting towed because we were parked in their restaurant parking spot. Decided to find somewhere else to eat. Bummer thanks alot
