Out of all the places in fairbanks I’ve been for sushi, this place is a personal favorite. Can’t believe it took me this long to swing by! Best bulgogi I’ve had hands down! The prices are so low you don’t feel bad ordering 2 or 3 rolls unlike other sushi places in town. Great small place for a quick date or just to enjoy some great sushi in peace.

I’m not even exaggerating when I say is the best sushi I’ve ever had. I order the ‘007 Roll’ (photo) and my husband ordered ‘Waikiki’ and they were both so delicious and different, worth every penny, yet is not an expensive place either.

First time here, totally cute comfy and clean atmosphere with class and character. Unexpected for a small strip mall. I ordered to go and had a great small table to wait at while my order was being made. Fresh sushi specials. Family owned restaurant, great vibe. One of Fairbanks’ hidden gems. Could easily dine with a family of 12 and four seats at the sushi bar. Will post about the food soon.

We loved this little sushi restaurant! The owners are a Japanese couple who have been in the states over 30 years, and running this restaurant in Fairbanks for 10 years. The sushi was very good. Generous portions of melt in your mouth tender fish. The rice is perfect… Sweet and just a little bit chewy. We loved the combination of flavors and textures in their “Wow Roll” (pictured below). Highly recommend this place if you are looking for really great sushi and sashimi.

Tokyo Express always meet our expectations. The owners are wonderful and their service is pleasant. Tiny place, but great for a quick lunch or take out. Food is always prepared so neatly and ready to be picked up on time. Check them out!

Don’t know why it took us so long to try TOKYO EXPRESS, but it is becoming our new favorite sushi place. I have seen a couple good reviews here and there, but we just never thought about it running around town. We were going to try the new Irashai location, but decided to go here instead after Irashai has been disappointing us recently (heard they had new chefs). After we walked in, we were greeted and treated very well. It is a true mom-and-pop establishment.

I’ve eaten here multiple times and all the other sushi places in Fairbanks, and by far if you’re looking for an amazing meal that makes you feel like you’re not in Alaska but more authentic vibe, this is definitely the spot. The rolls are very well proportioned, nicely made, and very flavorful. They hands down have the best Miso in town and just that warm friendly vibe. This place has become my go to for sushi, especially for lunch since it’s very near to work. 10 for 10 I recommend

I won’t be back. I ordered a Rock ‘n Roll roll. The menu says it has asparagus in it. I didn’t find any. When the owner asked how it was, I said it was okay but there was no asparagus. She said, oh we don’t put that in anymore because it’s too greasy. Now the roll itself was super greasy, oversalted (which I never thought I’d say about anything), not that tasty, and instead of asparagus they had avocado in it. Go figure. When I was trying to decide what to eat, I asked what vegetables were in the bulgogi bowl. She said just onions. The menu said mixed vegetables. When I called her on it, she said people don’t like the carrots or the broccoli so now it’s just onion. I’m glad I asked. Too bad I didn’t ask about the Rock ‘n Roll. I wouldn’t trust anything the menu says. I think they’re trying to save money by cutting out ingredients that are in the menu. I saved money by not leaving a tip.
