This place did not disappoint, we were a little worried there was no air conditioning but that was no problem. There was a nice breeze from the bay and they had large fans to help keep you cool. The service was friendly and it was not too busy the time of day we went. We ordered smoked wings, hamburger, sausage combo plate, extra link of sausage and the catfish fillet. We all enjoyed the wings they had a nice smokey flavor. My son always gets a plain burger (pictured). The catfish was perfectly cooked, fried okra and the hush puppies were excellent! The combo plate was a nice portion size that had plenty of leftovers to enjoy later.

What an amazing place to eat right in the campground! It’s open to the public and has plenty of parking.

On our way to Panama City for the Thunderbeach bike rally. Great atmosphere with an amazing view of the water. Located right next to an RV park. Gravel parking, still easy ride on a bike.

Is good barbecue available in the Florida panhandle? Or maybe it’s just me setting my expectations too high again. I’m from out of town and tried Fat Daddy’s based on its decent reviews. When I walked in, I was hoping the entire experience was going be as good as the atmosphere. A huge screened porch with tables overlooking the gulf and a constant breeze. I’m not sure a setting for barbecue could get much better. Service was adequate and friendly. I don’t need much more than being nice from a server and she was definitely nice and also good at her job. I ordered the half chicken meal with fries and baked beans. The fries were fine albeit in need of a little more salt for my liking and there was none to be found. With some Google searching I learned that the green bell peppers in the baked beans is a Southern thing, though I’m Southern and had never heard of it. (There are only two foods I don’t like, beets and green bell peppers.) Perhaps if the peppers had more time to cook into the beans, I might have been able to eat them. As it was though, the peppers were still quite firm and I tasted them in the two bites I did manage to down. (I’m not blaming the beans on the kitchen, just not to my taste.) The Texas toast was boring. No real flavor other than the bread (which is pretty flavorless) and some artificial butter something. Might actually have come from a toaster rather than the grill. But, then there’s the chicken. I tasted the smoke, but not much else. I couldn’t tell that any sort of spices were sprinkled/rubbed on it before it hit the smoke. Or maybe they were but weren’t given time to marry with the meat? When the server set my food down on the table, she said that the small (2oz) container of sauce on the tray was their tangy and asked if I would prefer something else. I told her that the tangy would be fine. I really prefer that there be a selection of bottles on the table from which to sample – please charge me more. This also allows me to use as much sauce as I like. That said though, I don’t think any amount of sauce would have helped the chicken. I made it through the dark meat using most of the sauce, but once I tried the breast, I gave up. It was so dried out that a bottle of sauce couldn’t have saved it. I wouldn’t expect chicken this dried out at 4:00 in the afternoon, let alone at 1:30 when lunchtime is still in swing. Or, maybe it was last night’s chicken reheated? There are lots of ways to use chicken before it starts to get that old – chicken salad, tacos, tortilla soup… Overall, a very disappointing meal. Or, maybe I just don’t understand Florida Panhandle-style barbecue? At any rate, next trip up, I’m skipping the ‘cue altogether.

I have never been a fan of BBQ but I LOVED this place! All of the meats were moist and perfectly cooked. Our wings and Mexican corn were perfection. Laid back atmosphere with views of the bays

This was our first time here and what a treat. You get very generous portions with your meal and it’s very good food. The owner actually took time to come out and talk to us. Very nice guy. Sitting outside on the patio looking at the Gulf of Mexico while eating was so nice. We will definitely be going back often.

Brag-n-bones Barbecue which is adjacent to and on the west side of the Coastline West resort and a short 10 minute walk from Coastline Resort East is an exceptional place for dinner as it far exceeds any smoked type barbecue meals you will find anywhere in the country.

Me and my family dined here this past Friday and we were pleasantly surprised. The smoked prime rib was amazing and full of flavor. The sides were just as good. My wife had the pulled pork Mac and cheese and it was amazing as well. My only complaint is the size of the prime rib was inconsistent (mine was huge and my brother’s was surprisingly small) other than that I have no complaints and definitely recommend eating here!
