I don’t normally leave reviews but I have to give these guys props. We order catering from them all the time from small work meetings to huge formal events. Today we’re having a party and I added 5 people to the order last minute. They changed it without hesitation. They had the food hot and just ready when I arrived to pick up. The cost for the amount of quality food that you get is great! I am very impressed with this place all around. I was hesitant at first because it’s a chain, but they have earned my business as a return customer and they never disappoint.

Quality and freshness of the food is fantastic. All the ingredients taste fresh and the portion sizes are more than satisfying. We got chips and guac, which were both very tasty and the shrimp enchiladas which were fantastic. I dropped one star because the service wasn’t very friendly or helpful and the system of ordering/paying for food was not smooth at all. We ordered them and were given no guidance on what happened after that because some of the other food works in the typical line service format where you build it and pay right away. We went and stood to pay and waited there for a very long time while other people paid before us. So I think because of the variety of food they offer and differing cook times it creates kinks in the system. The woman we ordered from was also not very friendly and we could barely hear anything she was saying. But again, very great and fresh food.

I’m always a fan of Costa Vida. It was my first time in this store, and the layout was a bit different from what I’m used to, but the employee was super nice and directed me on where to go. They were fast when preparing my food. The employees were all very nice and super friendly. It was a great experience, and as always, I loved the food.

The servers are very nice! I love the food, and even when they are busy, I do not feel rushed! They go above and beyond to make sure you will like what you get. I definitely recommend this place. They definitely understand the saying that “a smile goes a long way.”

Update 5/27: Had someone from the main corporate office reach out about the unfortunate past experiences with management and food quality. He was very thorough and understanding and did not tell me I was wrong and genuinely wanted to change my experience. Hopefully they’re able to make some changes with the Reno location, as I know many people other than me are hoping for. I’ll be updating in a few more days or removing this review. The stars I did give were for the fantastic customer service from the corporate office.

My experience here has always been great food and good service. They use all natural and fresh ingredients in their food, and you ca really taste the difference! The chips and guacamole is a great value and the guacamole is definitely fresh. We got some shrimp enchiladas and agreed they were also very fresh. One thing that bothers me is I feel uncomfortable throughout the ordering process. It’s like there is something missing, you’re not sure what you’re waiting for, what the next step is, if this works like a chipotle or not?! They might consider something like simple directions on how this place works, just a thought.
