I have been coming to this restaurant with my mom since I was a kid and have always loved the food and found the atmosphere charming. Recently, we had My Just Desserts cater their famous Tollhouse Brownies for our wedding, and they were absolutely perfect.

Our server was outstanding! Service is en pointe. We ordered the chicken Caesar salad, chicken salad sandwich, turkey pot pie and a small soup. We also had the raspberry cream sliced pie, and their pumpkin pie. You can really taste the clothes and the spice in the pumpkin pie it wasn’t too bad. The raspberry cream for me was outstanding. Super cute place, very American.

We hadn’t been there since before the pandemic so we were really looking forward to a good lunch. Food was skimpy and flavorless. Chips were crumbs from the end of the bag. Server was nice but spent her time sitting at a table talking with her friend. Never came back to us for refills. Spent over $40.00 for two of us. Sure isn’t like it used to be. We won’t be going back.

I grew up in Alton and have such fond memories here. Now my family lives in Missouri, so when I visit them I don’t often get back to my hometown. We made an exception this past Thanksgiving week and coming here and eating a sandwich I loved as a kid through to my teens was such a wonderful experience. Always recommend this place.

Food was good, dessert was delicious. Lovely small business in historic downtown Alton. A good place to relax over lunch; don’t go there if you’re in a hurry.

Ate here for the first time and must say, it’s a quaint comfortable atmosphere, service was great, my chicken Salad Sandwich was excellent. I couldn’t decide on dessert so i got two. The rhubarb crumble was really good, and may have to eat my peach cobbler when i get home. I’ll be coming back.

Seemed a little pricey for lunch. Food was good, service not so much.
