I was told the pizza here was a must try. I like to hear from others about places I may not tend to try on my own, so at least I have an idea what to try once I get there. I finally got a chance to get here, and decided on trying the deep dish pizza. I got the sausage and pepperoni with extra sauce. First look and it’s not your normal deep dish. The sides of the crust aren’t built high, he sauce isn’t on top, it gave more pan than do dish. However, that is neither here nor there, because that same crust gave a while different thinking to deep dish crust. From the first bite, it’s not overly hard as you would imagine a deep dish having to be to support the toppings. Instead your greeted with a soft almost bread stick pull of crust that caught me off guard. I expected a crunch and was met with softness that was interesting but fit the pizza. The sauce was a great tomato bed for the rest of the toppings to reside on. The cheese pull was nice, with no feeling it was undone. The sausage and pepperoni definitely felt and tasted great with the right spice blend. Then once you make it to the outer rim of the crust, you get introduced to that crunch of a deep dish you expect. Definitely will come back to try other variations.

Maurie’s Table has been around for decades and withstood time. My family as well as many others I’m sure have been raised up going to the family-friendly pizza joint. My grandparents continue to sit in the same booth every night except Monday only because they’re closed. Make sure to tell them hello when you see them. The pizza is unique to the place and delicious and they will make it any way you want it. The mini beef roll is also a recommendation I’m confident to make. The staff is attentive and friendly so treat them well. Hands-down best pizza place in town!

Something happened with Norm’s kitchen staff this summer. I ordered a deep dish cheese and I came out looking like a DiGiorno frozen pizza. I don’t know what happened to his quality measures but these guys don’t even come close to Cemenos anymore.

Food was good as usual except for garlic breadsticks. It was just French bread with stuff on it which even though we said we didn’t like it and we didn’t eat it they didn’t take off. Not a big deal for them but now it is for me. Just a small piece of bread that was more important than customer satisfaction.

I used to work here almost 30 years ago so I’m biased… But this is my favorite pizza place in Chicagoland. My staple is a large deep dish with sausage and mushroom. Delicious and very filling, also a lot of pizza for the money. Personally I like Mauries over the more popular places you great about such as Gino’s, Pequods, etc

I’m so disappointed ! Went to go there on Sunday, to see a few tables an only 1 server! we sat down an got our drinks right away. An she never came back to take our order, we waited 45 minutes and not once did she acknowledge us or even apologize for the long wait.

Can’t recommend this place highly enough. Called ahead and they saved us a table for 3 extremely hungry travelers. Sarah our server was so friendly and provided excellent service to us. Plus, the pizza was top notch!! Excellent spot.
