Took nearly 20 minutes to get an order in. The Pop’s Special sandwich was so mushy it literally fell apart when trying to eat it, and so intensely salty I couldn’t finish it. Wife’s crab cake was equally salty, loose, and nearly unpalatable. I’m all for supporting local business, but this was pretty bad. Hoping this was just a fluke.

This is a very cute little spot. The decor is sweet and authentically retro. The food was fine. We only had breakfast and it was okay. Maybe lunch/dinner items are better. I was a little put off by the server. She didn’t say or do anything directly to us, but how other patrons were treated and some of the personal stories she was telling customers were very unprofessional. I understand that small town life means everyone knows everyone’s business, but badmouthing people who have left to other customers is not right.

Do yourself a favor, pass up Bob Evans, pass up The Cracker Barrel, a mile away is a diamond in the rough that you will be glad you found. If you blink , you will pass it up, but if it breakfast you want at a price you can afford and be full all day, the Filling Station does not disappoint! The portions are satisfying and the service and the prices are a local hidden jem. Pancakes as big as your head is not a lie, the homemade sausage with just the right amount of sage really brings you back to true home cooking at its finest. In fact, all the breakfast items you will think mom, herself, is in the kitchen, just as she did when you were a kid! A absolute must try!

We stopped here for breakfast while traveling through the area. The only thing that tasted any good was the sausage. Pancakes tasted like flour, eggs that were ordered over medium were served overcooked and rubbery, potatoes were ice cold. Only had one waitress working and it wasn’t that busy, but she never came to check on us after bringing out the food. It was pretty awful.

It had been a while since I’d been in, and it’s forgotten how go the fries are at the Filling Station. Sandwich was good too, but I’ll be back for the fries… And a large next time!

Stopped in for lunch on a Saturday. Friendly service, and good food! They were not busy but it was picking up before we left. We could tell from the banter between some diners and server that they have some regulars! Interior is clean, but a little old looking with the orange vinyl booths so if you’re looking for somewhere fancy, this is not it. If you want tasty food, go on in!

My wife, granddaughter and myself were here on Saturday, August 26 for dinner. I found them on Google Maps, under “places where the locals like to eat.” A great decision to go there for dinner.
