Decided to give Scoggins a try as I was craving a prime rib steak and they were the closest restaurant to us serving a prime rib. We read the reviews prior to visiting and took into account some that said the food was just ok and waits could be long but also that their overall rating was 4.5. We like to try different places so we gave them a chance.

Raw oysters were delicious! Cocktail shrimp was good also but too much horseradish in the cocktail sauce for my girlfriend. It was perfect for me since I love horseradish. She ordered the Veggie pasta and liked it. I ordered the seafood platter. The crab cakes were the best I’ve ever had. Flounder was a bit dry so I just ate the meat.

Honestly do I even have to go there??? GET THE SIRLOIN TIPS WITH PEPPERS AND ONIONS. DO NOT SIT CLOSE TO EACH OTHER IF YOU GET THEM BECAUSE YOU WILL SLAP EACH OTHER.YES IT’S THAT GOOD.

Was a great meal with good service. The waitress forgot our salads and brought them out after our meal. I can say she was really busy so we overlooked that. Great oysters and coconut shrimp was very impressed with our meals.

Food is phenomenal! Service was good and we had a great dinner. So why the 3 star rating? The owner/manager. We went in, ordered off the menu given to us, and I saw crab legs priced at $16.99 for a pound, and $9.99 for additional 1/2 pound. Wow! Great price and I actually said this to the server when I ordered. She said “oh, it is a very good price”. Again dinner was great, but issue was in charges. Went to pay and charged for $25.99 for the pound, additional &13.99 for 1/2 pound. WHAT? I immediately requested the manager, and the owner came out. She pulled and showed me a menu where the prices were marked out with a pen and handwritten in the new price. I complained that I didn’t get THAT menu and further the server AGREED with me on what a great price was on a now discovered false menu. The owner/manager then started complaining how much she pays now when she buys crab, and that the server would need to pay for this if I wanted the charges corrected. She then blamed the server stating she was suppose to “tell you the new price”. WHAT? I mean even if that’s the case, obviously they took the time to write on some menus…just not all?!?!!!! The owner/manager needs to own HER poor judgment and the error on HER restaurant’s part. How did this become my issue to punish someone for her error? That is horrible to charge a server for the restaurant’s failure to communicate accurate menu prices. I paid the full amount as I didn’t feel the server should suffer for a loser owner/manager who obviously needs a lesson in integrity. We will eat there again I’m sure because the food is so good, but for all who read this…beware of menu prices not clearly communicated. Shouldn’t have to, but ask if the prices are correct.

This restaurant is one of the best in the county. If you are looking for steaks & seafood that taste great, but don’t break the bank, this is the place. The wait staff are very pleasant & attentive. They’ve always had an outstanding salad bar & still do – even in these “Covid times”. If you order the salad bar, you will be given a slip of paper listing all their salad bar items & you check off what you want. They will build your salad plate for you.

Stopped here cause my husband and I were on our way home but we were a little hungry and came here. The staff were super nice food was great. If we ate in the area again we will definitely be stopping here. The food was very filling maybe even to much cause be were stuffed and the prices were very good too.
