Decided to have a fantastic meal instead of bourbon street food.

Despite what you may have heard on the “other side,” Algiers has some awesome local food joints. Tonti’s is one of them! Unique? Yes! Friendly? Absolutely! Give this place a try! A few pointers: the menu is not huge, but that’s the point! These smaller places focus on great food, made as ordered. Sorry, this ain’t a chain restaurant that mass produces. Good food takes time. If you are looking for a quick meal, perhaps consider somewhere else in Algiers. Take time to relax and enjoy the ambience here. They have inside and outside dining, a nice bar, clean restroom, and friendly servers. If you like bourbon, they are one of the few places that carries Willet (including rye). The portions are big, but they do not sacrifice quality to produce large meals (too common in the restaurant industry, in my humble opinion!) So, hop on the ferry, walk a few blocks, and enjoy this adorable french bistro! I gave the food a 4 because 5s across the board are cliche…and you wouldn’t read the review, would you? Food is a 5!

I loved this place! It was recommended by a local and it was an amazing find. Great cocktail menu and a nice variety of food items as well. We were all pleased with our selections.

It’s our first time exploring Algiers Point (we usually just stay in the Quarter when visiting New Orleans from Los Angeles). We were coming to check out Tout de Suite for a late Sunday brunch, but we didn’t realize it closed early. Tonti’s Hand French Bistro is down the street, and we are so happy we ate here instead! Ordered the Pain Perdu brunch special (omg, so delicious on all levels) and their L’Smash burger with fries (and duck fat aioli). We enjoyed everything. The ambiance is lovely, and the service is stellar (thanks, Anthony)! Would definitely come back on our next visit! Also, they whipped up tasty mocktails for us (with homemade grenadine).

We had dinner on opening night & it was fantastic. Trout Almandine with crispy skin & tender flesh & an enormous, delicious burger. The cocktails were perfect as well. So glad to have an excellent new restaurant in Algiers Point!

We had the most wonderful lunch here when my parents were in town visiting. The service was outstanding, the atmosphere lovely, and the food delicious! The burger fried in duck fat was among the best I’ve had anywhere! Highly recommend. A great new addition to the neighborhood and worth a day trip to Algiers Point!

We were very impressed with our entire experience. The food was really good. The staff was very attentive, and no hiccups for being a newly opened restaurant (this was just day 3 of being open). We are excited to have this in the neighborhood and will be back.

A hidden gem across from the big city. The mushroom bourguignon and creme brulee were absolutely amazing. Worth a trip across the river.
