While visiting Saint Charles for the first time, I stopped by for dinner at Gingham’s after reading all of the great reviews. We decided to sit at one of the counters and were able to sit down right away. I had the fried chicken with mashed potatoes and chose to upgrade my second side to the soup of the day, which was Chicken and Dumplings. The soup was creamy and flavorful and definitely filling. The fried chicken was cooked to perfection and had just the right outside crispness to inside juiciness ratio. The mashed potatoes were light and fluffy and the brown gravy was terrific. My husband got the open faced turkey platter and enjoyed it. I’m from California, but I love sweet tea and Gingham’s was delicious! You may think it’s hard to mess up sweet tea, but believe me it happens . I really enjoyed theirs. Not too sweet and definitely not bitter. For dessert, I tried a slice of their chocolate cream pie and it was amazing!! It was a busy night at the restaurant, but the staff was friendly, responsive and brought us our food and drinks very quickly. This is a great spot for hearty comfort food. Now I just need to come back to try some of the delicious looking breakfast items!

Was recommended Ginghams from someone at the front desk at the hotel. A unique mix of diner and country styling. I got the buffalo chicken melt which was recommended by my server. It was great! The bread was crispy, but not overly dry and the chicken was moist and covered in melted cheese. I got a slice of coconut cream pie to-go. Not the best, but creamy and still hit the spot. I thought the pies were made there, but my server said they buy them in from somewhere. Either way, it’s a solid choice if you’re looking for casual American, and I bet their breakfasts are great. They are open 24 hours too, and seems way safer than a Waffle House if you have some late night cravings.

The one and only true 24 hour restaurant. 10We come for breakfast at least 3 times a week. We absolutely love this place! The dogs are always great with fresh hot coffee. The wait staff and hostess are kind and very attentive. The menu has so many home cooked meals that you just can’t remember the last time you ate that well.

We stopped here while vacationing thru STL and looking for a 24hr restaurant because it was late. We got right in and our server was just the best ever! She was very attentive we didn’t have to ask for refills, she brought our food straight out while it was still hot, she was quick and super friendly. Our food was delicious! My husband ordered a milkshake and it was homemade from scratch with real ice cream! The only downside was it was super cold( the a/c definitely works lol)but overall really good dining experience.

Husband & I drove from Fl to Missouri to pick up material for a job & a little bit of us time, well we ended up here for breakfast from the town’s people recommending it, great, awesome, sounds like a great down home cooking place we need. Place is so cute. Loved the atmosphere, server was very nice but it was understandable busy so it wasn’t like i wanted a lot of undivided attention but the food was not good & when she asked as she was vigorously walking by our table how did i even have a chance to say anything other than fine. But, yeah Breakfast for me was 2 scrambled eggs, then a cup of fruit al’e cart. Husband ordered “The Rancher” consists of 3bacon, 3sausage links, 3 eggs & 3 pancakes added ch. chips.

Been coming to Ginghams for well over a decade. Whether you’re hungry for breakfast, lunch, dinner, or if it’s 3AM and you’ve been out all night – this is always a phenomenal choice. I always get the fried chicken. It takes a while but every minute is worth it. It’s hand breaded to order and tastes heavenly. Pretty much the closest you can get to going down to the south and sitting in on a random grandmas fried chicken dinner. ALSO their ranch is DANK. It’s house made. None of that garbage, premade, commercial ranch from a big jar. Oh and PRO TIP: try the chipotle sauce. It accompanies anything fried exceptionally well. I’ve honestly never gotten anything other than the fried chicken as my entree but I can vouch for a bulk of their appetizers. As far as the other menu items go, I’ve never once had a friend complain about what they’ve gotten out of my hundreds of visits to this late night staple. If you’ve never been here, which I can’t even imagine, then just get the fried chicken. You won’t regret it. 9.1/10 clucks.

As a customer for over 20 years, I must say over the past few years Ginghams has lost the ability to properly cook hash browns. The hash browns used to be perfection, every time, to a wonderful golden brown crisp and cooked evenly through with no burning. Now every time I order the same thing I have ordered for over 20 years, the hash browns come out like waffle house, burnt and crunchy ☹️

Sat at bar for a quick lunch, had a new server today who did great, but the experience was poor due to things out of his control. Pricing is inaccurate on Google’s menu, ended up paying close to $20 with tip for something listed as $12.49 on Google. Ordered the chicken parmesan but portion size was too small for me, especially for the $15.49 it truly cost. To make matters worse, when I got in my car, I realized there was something underneath the bar that got all over my work pants. Spent the rest of my break in the parking lot cleaning off an unknown, thick white substance from my pants. Not what I wanted to be doing.
