Hortus NYC started with a vision to reinvent how we approach modern Asian cuisine. You’ll quickly see how this dining experience differs from what you typically expect: a welcoming, open kitchen, a design-forward atmosphere and menu, carefully crafted dishes you won’t find elsewhere, and that’s just the start. We’ve blended the cuisines of many countries, including China, Thailand, and Korea, to create a fresh menu that combines these flavors in a unique way. Our specialized approach extends beyond our atmosphere and dishes, too. We highlight delicious tastes while celebrating sustainable and seasonal ingredients. We can’t wait for you to experience Asian flavors in this new-American style.

Convenient location for after work get together. Love the chic interior. Food and cocktails were also delicious. Pear affair cocktail, not too sweet, the ultimate compliment.

A very good and creative experience. We tried many appetizers and a couple of mains, everything was good to very good. The Hamachi was my favorite! The drinks were also very interesting and flavorful. If you are looking for something different, with nothing too wild or “over the top”, I recommend Hortus (they have an exceptional staff too!)

An upscale double level Asian fusion restaurant bringing best dishes from multiple cuisines. Have a nice glasses backyard area. Started with salmon hors d’oeures in small cones. The pastas were well cooked and sauces flavorful. Ribs really hit the spot, fish was a bit standalone next to the veggies. Truffle roes on rice hmmm. Finally the matcha ice cream desserts finished a well meal.

I’ve absolutely loved the times I’ve dined at Hortus and eagerly look forward to future visits. The dishes are not only beautifully presented but so flavorful, delicious, and well balanced. From the fresh seafood in the Royal Platter to the tender ribeye and delicate matcha tiramisu, you cannot go wrong. The atmosphere of Hortus is chic and service is professional/friendly and makes you feel valued; I’d highly recommend!

Highly recommend the truffle donabe with short rib and the fluke crudo. The cauliflower also had awesome flavor and the crispy rice tuna with wasabi cream was delicious.

The sea urchin main had such an amazing combination of textures and flavors when mixed together, I could pretty much eat it all day. If you’re looking for a lighter option, I would highly recommend ordering this!
