I’ve eaten here a few times, and it has always been great. Don’t miss your chance to have one of the best shrimp poboy, you won’t be disappointed.

Today I went to the Southern Fried Rabbit in Columbia, MS. I ordered the sweet potato fries with no salt. The sweet potato fries were Hot and had no salt. I had an errand. I waited to eat my sweet potato fries. Next time I stop in, I will get their Shrimp Poor Boy and more sweet potato fries.

Fish and shrimp are amazing. Potatoe salad is super delicious as well their fries are the best in town. Popcorn chicken is really good, my daughter loves their hamburgers.

Finally found this place open and/or still had rabbit on the menu. I’m not from here. Over the years, we’ve tried multiple times to try this place when passing though only for them to be closed early or out of rabbit. Who closes shop at 2pm when you got droves of people still trying to buy? Must be nice to not need money and do this for a hobby. The rabbit was really good. For anyone thinking it’s suppose to be the same consistency as fried chicken has apparently never had fried rabbit before. So do your research. That being said, the sides were nothing to write home about. Really disappointed. The portions were embarrassingly small. Maybe, a table spoon or two of cheap, white rice, and bland gravy. The lima beans had no seasoning to them and like the rice, maybe a small spoonful was given to you. That type of rice and gravy is dirt cheap. Especially that cheap, bland white rice that elementary schools and prisons serve. That should be piled high in your to go box. Man, you guys can get some Louisiana made Jasmine rice (it actually has flavor) with some seasoned gravy and make this a hundred times better. For the lima beans, Tony’s seasoning is cheap. Come on now. Might do it again one day when we pass through but unless something changes, those sides can go in the trash. Offer a fried rabbit plate only minus the sides. Also, I didn’t find out until I got home that we were suppose to get drinks with all that.

The stars aligned after almost 2 years of going by so we finally got to try this place. The menu is full of choices. While it was a quick stop day and we juat had burgers but they were awesome. If you’re a fan of chiles try the Mama burger the flavor of the jalapenos comes through great.
