I generally very much enjoy the food at Louie’s but todays experience was the worst I’ve ever had here. I placed a to go order for 6 Texas Red Hots, a Grecian Salad, Fries, and a Rice Pudding. When I got there, I took my order and took a quick peak and left. I got home and started eating, the fries were cold and salad was skimpy but I let it go. I then realize they didn’t put the Rice Pudding I ordered in the to go bag. I called and they said they were sorry and told me to come back. I got there and the pudding they handed me was watery and bouncing around the container. I asked if it should look like that, the waitress claimed her boss just made it; because I seemed hesitant, she checked the other Rice Pudding from the fridge. It looked fine so I took it and went home. When I got home, my boyfriend and I tried it and it was sour. I called to let them know and all they stated was oh I’m sorry, I’ll let the boss know. There was zero compensation for any of the wrong doings. I understand mistakes happen but I think a refund should’ve been offered. I don’t know that I’d go back here after this experience.

The inside hasn’t changed since the 70s but you don’t go there for the scenery. You’re there for the Texas hots. And Louie’s does some of the best around. A couple of hotdogs, fries and onion rings, a cup of extra sauce on the side, and a loganberry… It takes you back. The staff is always friendly. There’s always an open table. They actually have a decent sized menu but I have only ordered the same thing for the last 40 years. Thank goodness for the Greeks and the invention of the randomly named Coney Island dog.

We had lunch very good, great service, but the bathroom was the dirtiest I’ve ever seen. I gaged, trying to catch my breath. The smell was so bad. I wanted to throw up!

My daughters and I love this place. The 1970s color scheme is simply the best. We have had a lot of hot dogs here and they are delicious.

Food is always good. Pre-ordered and arrived after time quoted and waited still. Huge fan of the breakfasts and Texas hot sauce. Milkshakes are a bonus. Friendly staff.

This was the first place I started my Texas Red Hot road trip. Never heard of this type of hot dog style before. I know the Greeks started the Coney Island hot dog which includes a chili base sauce as well as the New York System style. Louies’ hits the mark well for the Texas Red Hot. Itis at the top of my list. The bun was fresh and hot as well as a good red sauce which contained some nice Greek type spices.. You won’t go wrong eating a TRH here. Wish they had this place in San Diego. We also ordered a Chicken souvlaki for our daughter. She loved it i tasted it and it had an authentic Greek taste. Keep up the great work. I will return before I depart. Had a chance to meet the owner Anastasia (Stacy) and she was a pleasure to meet. Ευχαριστώ πολύ Αναστασία για το καλό φαγητό. Note I do hate eating in the car but with this Wuhan Virus what can we do?

The gyro and feta omelet was delicious. The texas sauce I had on my home fries had too much vinegar in it.
