This place is what a neighborhood restaurant should be… Great food, family owned for 77 years, and one of the owners (Corey) comes out and checks on you. And don’t forget the Wall of Fame. It’s a great family experience and breakfast is served all day.

My wife and my granddaughter And I were looking for a nice place to eat for breakfast in Oakland. We ran across a restaurant called Lois the Pie Queen. We were greeted and seated by Ricki. She was an excellent waitress and server, and she gave our granddaughter V.I.P treatment. Leon is an excellent cook. We ordered pork chops with hash browns and over easy eggs with biscuits, and chicken and waffles. We will definitely be going back, and I recommend this restaurant to all.We Thank Ricki and Leon for a wonderful dining experience. Can’t wait to taste the banana cream pie next time.

Old school inside outside, great food. I had spinach and cheese omelette with house made biscuits and grits. It was very good. Great pecan pie.

I should have done myself a favor and come here sooner. After 3 years of living in Oakland I finally visited Lois the Pie Queen on Juneteenth and absolutely enjoyed it. I am so glad they are here and hope they continue to triumph for decades to come. The crunchiest, juiciest, and most flavorful chicken I have had in a while.

Very disappointed because we had several people tell us about how wonderful this place is so I brought my family to come try. My mother has a service animal that she has to bring with her everywhere and the second we walked in the door they told her she couldn’t have her dog. I would understand if it was a regular dog, but when we explained that the dog is a certified service animal and yet we were still kicked out. It’s very unfortunate because my mother has to have her dog with her at all times and all we wanted to do was try this place we heard such great things about. We decided not to argue given that this place is a small business and we didn’t want to cause a scene or disturb anyone else in the store so we just left. As we left we met the owner outside. He asked if we couldn’t just leave my mothers dog in the car while we eat, which to that we then again explained that no, she has to have her dog with her AND it’s the middle of August… It’s simply too hot to leave your animal in the car. To say we are disappointed is an understatement but we did not wish to cause any trouble so I guess we’ll just never get to try. 🙁

Lois the Pie Queen is a little restaurant that has tons of character and great food. Their portion sizes are good for their prices, and that quality and taste is definitely there. The staff and service is great, super friendly and helpful. Parking is a bit tough outside and they only take cash (Venmo if you don’t have any on you) so it’s still pretty convenient on their part. Chicken and waffles were on point, super juicy on the inside and crispy on the outside. Would recommend breakfast here if you’re in the neighborhood.

Staff was rude and dismissive for no apparent reason. I felt like a nuisance and it was obvious my presence there was not needed. Still purchased the food. It was average at best. Too bad because I thought I was supporting a black owned business. Customer service needs to improve.
