The food is very large portions but is awfully greasy. the staff is friendly and attentive and the small town fell is cozy. Maybe I just ordered the wrong thing? I’ll definitely try something else next time I go

Hi BJ, I only got the privilege of trying your food once, but I was met with excellent service and you were so incredibly kind. I’m very sorry for your loss and I hope you find peace, wishing you the best with your move and your food truck adventure.

Hate to leave a negative review but this was so bad and I hope they read this and try and improve their menu. My first time trying Bernie’s. Wife and son ate there a couple years ago and said it was not good at all. We thought we would try one more time. Sadly, I will never go there again. This was bad and you could see not a lot of care went into the food. Even just the presentation on the plate was bad. It is sad when you expect good homestyle cooking and realize Safeway’s frozen dinner options and every fast food restaurant (has better food.) I got a hamburger and onion rings. The meat patty was dry, bread seemed to be old or on the verge of not really should be served status. the lettuce, onions and pickles were about all that was good. The onion rings were so bad and the batter thick and soggy on the inside and barely crisp on the out. The batter had no flavor at all. Next, son ordered the prime rib special with grilled veggies and mashed potatoes. The prime just looked off. It was cooked medium rare but my son struggled to cut through it with the knife provided. It did not come with and was not offered horse radish sauce and aduou. It was dry and tough and for the special a very small portions with 13rd not edible. I wish we took pics. It also had a smoked flavor to it which is not mentioned. It distracted from the taste of real quality prime rib. The mashed potatoes did not taste like any mashed potatoes we have ever tried. These tasted like watery (not creamy) mush with a lot of pepper. I would expect far better than this as they tout Grandma recipes. My son took a couple bites and then I tasted them and could not believe they serve this. Maybe people here are used to below average food and think this is really good. His grilled veggies were too salty and all tasted the same. We stopped at Safeway after this and my son being still hungry bought a Stouffer’s meatloaf dinner with mashed potatoes and said these were 100% better. In his 1st time visiting (2 yrs ago) he tried Bernie’s meatloaf and said it was really bad. I had mentioned the prime rib being really tough to the waiter (nice kid) and he said he would mention this to the cook. There was never any follow-up. I did not expect a discount but maybe an offer to bring out a better piece of prime rib. Everything tasted sadly bad and I hope they can improve. If not, stick a fork in this restaurant, they will not survive much longer. This was a waste of close to $40 and had to pick up a frozen dinner that was far superior for my son. I would STRONGLY recommend Improving your menu. This town is growing (sadly), with this growth more restaurants will be popping up. I would bet the farm in Vegas if you don’t do something about your menu you will be gone within two years. I’m all for supporting local businesses and really hope you all can reinvent your menu. There was no value to this meal. As hard as this is, an honest review is what you need. Or, call up one of those cooking restaurant rescue shows as seen on TV because you really need it!

I don’t know who in their right mind would call this biscuit when it’s clearly cornbread…. Which was stale.

Exceptionally slow service for a restaurant that wasn’t very busy. (Waited 45+ minutes for our food and people who sat after us got theirs before us.) Food was sub-par. Nothing special. Way too expensive. The lady server was extremely rude to the young guys serving too, getting on to them in front of the whole restaurant. Just was an overall bad experience. We won’t be going back after our first visit.

Stopped in here the other day when I was hungry and had no where else to go. “Sure you had another option,” you might ask, and yes, I did have other options, but they were fast food or I’d eaten there recently. You see, I like to try new things. It’s a character flaw, I’m sure.

Great small town family owned and operated place. Chicken fried chicken is fantastic. Burgers and bbq also very good. It’s not a fast food restaurant so go in and relax while they are taking time to prepare your food fresh for you. If you’re in a hurry, there’s plenty of fast food options near by. I’m a regular customer for a reason.

The 1st time the family and tried Bernie’s was the 1st weekend they opened. As any new restaurant with new owners to the business, it’s going to take them a few weeks maybe a couple of months to work out the ins and outs of the business. With that being said I didn’t feel it would be fair for me to post a review.
