This was a shot in the dark. I always saw Jack’s lobster shack from across the street and I noticed it was always packed! I went and tried it and omg it was fantastic!! The food was so good, incredibly fresh, they literally pick lobsters out from their lobster homes in the restaurant. We waited awhile for our food and the waiter, Brian, brought out complimentary chips while we wait! Brian was so attentive and polite. I’ve been here about 3x in the last few weeks I enjoyed it so much. The prices aren’t bad either especially for someone who loves seafood and has been to quite a few seafood restaurants. Thank you Jack’s Lobster Shack for providing great food, great service at a great price!! I’ve recommended this place to my family and friends who have said the same. Next time I’ll need to get their famous lobster grilled cheese!!

This was out 1st trip to the Tenafly location. We got lobster rolls from them before in Cresskill. We were a bit disappointed. I understand they can’t make a fresh lobster for each roll, but the meat tasted like it was sitting around for hours. Dried out and stringy. A few claws which were decent and some other unnamed chopped up pieces. It didn’t “go bad” but just tasted like it had been sitting round most of the day.

We ordered for takeout. The staff was friendly and greeted us upon entering the establishment. The food was nicely packed and all ready to go. We enjoyed our meal of fish tacos (softshell), Connecticut and Maine lobster rolls, kids fried shrimp platter, and truffle lobster mac and cheese.

Since they moved from cresskill to Tenafly, quality has significantly declined. I’ve gone twice now and both times my food was cold and undercooked. First was the crab cake, and now the fish sandwich and chicken sandwich. I had to recook both sandwiches to be edible. Someone needs to talk to the cook and get it fixed. I will not be returning otherwise. I can’t be the only one experiencing this.

We love this place! It’s our fourth time here, and each time we had a different dinner. Great and varied salads, veggie options, and of course the claim to fame – lobster, oyster, salmon, shrimp, scallops, crab and whatnot. The kids enjoy chicken fingers and fries, fried calamari, or just pasta… and the vibe is fun, too. Always great service. We also ordered in once and it was wonderful. Highly recommended.

went here twice and both times the person at the counter gave me the wrong order even after I repeated. It also lacks most of the other options that were available in the original Cresskill location and is way more expensive than the previous place. No more pastas, calamari, or other delicious options that were there before. The last location in Edgewater is the current go to since it at least has more options that aren’t things only children eat. Changing it into a fish and chips with burgers place was a really strange change and takes away from the original location. Go the Edgewater location instead where there are more options and a much cheaper price. Nicer staff at the location as well

Pictured is the lobster grilled cheese and the crab cake sandwich which was my order and omg! It was amazing! A great big crab cake with all crab meat no fillers on a english muffin.. it was great. Filled me up with a couple of bites i couldn’t finish it. I look foward to returning
