Amazing food and friendly family, southern cuisine at its finest don’t miss this jewel in Statesboro, everything makes a hard choice, the smothered hamburger and smothered pork chops simply amazing, super good fried Atlantic shrimp. Mac & cheese, and southern sweet tea it’s hard to pick out all the best flavors.

This is a great soul food price with excellent hospitality. The manager was very nice and the food was delicious. We just moved to the area and I am glad we choose this place. I also end up having car trouble and the manager gave me a jump start she is awesome.

After a mix up, we pulled up to this restaurant where they had no idea of what was to come. Our plan was to gather groups from schools attending a conference at the local university but contact for dinner reservations were made at a similarly named restaurant in Augusta, GA. On this cold, rainy night we pulled up with over 60 hungry souls. The manager comes out and has no idea of any of our plans as we were in touch with the wrong restaurant. However, these wonderful folks took on the challenge! They made room for us and cooked up some delicious meals…treating us like family. It was a night of dancing and singing (and the staff joined in).

After driving here from Atlanta to try the soul food, I was NOT disappointed, you could tell it was cooked with love. It was GREAT, the atmosphere was just like being at big mama house with family. I love it. Food perfectly seasoned.

The actual atmosphere is minimalist at best but you are not there for the aesthetic. This is the best restaurant soul food I’ve ever had. They are not worried about salt, cholesterol or gluten. They are giving you straight savory soul food. Delicious and our server Duke was tremendously friendly and courteous.

Was looking for some yummy soul food when visiting Georgia. We definitely got what we were looking for. We had the salmon, smothered pork chops, grilled pork chops and fried chicken and it was all delicious and made with love. Thanks to the family of Big Ma’s – you made it the best experience.
