Built as the Armour Smokehouse in 1906 this legendary Jackson landmark is a true icon of Mississippi’s rich heritage. The old Iron Horse Grill burned down mysteriously twice. It was left abandoned after a fire in 1999. Fifteen years later we’ve brought it back up from the ashes like never before! Our open kitchen and live music is the Mississippi way of living.
Southern-style pub fare, unique craft cocktails & live music offered in an airy, industrial space. Based on 3 reviews, the restaurant has received a rating of 4.4 stars. Price $$

Amazing place in Jackson Mississippi, not sure if part of a chain in other areas but amazing tasting southern food. The chicken fried chicken with mash, white gravy and green beans was delicious and the citrus chicken was bursting with flavours. Highly recommended if you’re passing through Jackson.

It was an awesome experience. There was no wait for a table or our food. Everything was great. If you ever go ask for “Toodie” she was the best waitress hands down.

The atmosphere is relaxed. There wasn’t a live band playing when we were there, but I imagine on a Friday night Iron Horse is the place to be! The starter chips are seasoned well, drinks are large, service friendly. Our waitress Melanie, went above and beyond to sell the delicious creamy squash and onion soup. It was amazing! I ordered the Navaho chicken with a baked potato and green beans. The chicken was juicy, tender and well seasoned. The green beans and mushrooms on the chicken were obviously fresh. I didn’t have room for the baked potato but looked awesome. The portion sizes are large, come here when you’re hungry. Overall I highly recommend.

Very cool place! It is a must visit! Go upstairs after you eat! Was in town on business and this is the place the folks over at the Hampton recommended, and I’m so glad they did. Go see for your self, I for one took lots of photos.

Ate lunch here on a Saturday. It’s a really fun atmosphere with friendly service. It got a nice mix of food. You get salsa and nicely seasoned chips when you sit down. I got the iron horse salad which was nice. I was too full to try dessert but they looked really good. I’d definitely come back esp to hear music.

Usually the food is great but the cooks definitely need to watch how they send their food out the door. Had feathers on the chicken wings… turned me off from eating it all together. Now I’m wondering if the food is prepared (washed&cleaned) properly before they serve it.

This place was really great! Our waitress was awesome and gave us some history about the place. The shrimp and grits was the best. There was even a small museum at the top of the restaurant. There were artists I didn’t even know that were from Mississippi. Also they have live music. This is a great place to go.
