At Betta Gumbo we take favorite family recipes and add a special culinary twist to our own brand of Cajun and low-country cooking. Now with a second location in Windsor, mo’ Betta brings a N’awlins style flair to northern Colorado.
And on a personal note, y’all…
The Caldwell Family loves Windsor! It is the best of both worlds for us: a healthy blend of relaxed Colorado living and a thriving small town to support a strong economic lifestyle. We are 10 minutes East of Fort Collins, an hour from Denver, and next to Estes Park and its outdoor activities.
Based on 167 reviews, the restaurant has received a rating of 4.3 stars. Price $$

We were staying in Timnath for the night and decided to take a friend’s recommendation on Betta Gumbo – they certainly did not disappoint. Gill (with a G) was absolutely amazing! She was attentive and provided phenomenal customer service; her drink and modified food recommendations were on point (Thank you).

customer service was good and it was a welcoming and friendly environment. EXCEPT i was leaving the state and went specifically out of my way to come try this place and it was not worth it at all. the fried green tomatoes were pretty good but i only got a few and it was $10. but the mac and cheese was incredibly bland and had nearly no flavor, which is kinda disappointing given i spent $15 on it without any sort of protein. i had higher expectations because of the prices but wow it was definitely not worth $30 for just me ordering alone.

The atmosphere of this place is so cool. Decorations, furnature, and lighting all play part in the eclectic but fun atmosphere. The food is great and a fun twist on southern food.

This is our second experience at MoBetta. Very disappointing each time. Bland bland bland. Ordered two fried catfish blue plate specials. I was very surprised to have almost zero flavor on every item besides the side salad. Catfish was so bland I was shocked given this is a Cajun restaurant. Red beans and rice were just as bland and boring. Slaw tasted like I was eating straight mayonnaise. Very disappointed in the lack of flavor in every item.

Expected a lot more after experiencing the original restaurant in Loveland. Right off the bat, no ice tea! A southern restaurant with no ice tea?? Ordered salad and—no blue cheese dressing. And then the gumbo, after living on the gulf coast for 5 years I know my gumbo, and this wasn’t it. It had no flavor. Oh, it was hot alright, but that is all I could say. Hot for the sake of being hot.

First time here and everything was great! Food came out faster than we expected. We enjoyed the food. I like the atmosphere, it was the first thing I noted when walking in. Our server Sarah K, was kind and checked on us.

The atmosphere is great, our waitress Sadie was fun, and the drinks were really good. Unfortunately, the food just wasn’t the best. The hush puppies were burnt and dry, the crab cakes were very dry and the blackened catfish had zero flavor. I don’t think any one of us finished our meal. I definitely had higher hopes for the food, but we might come back for music and a drink.
