This food is seriously good the customer service was fine my reason for 4 star instead of 5 is strictly for wait time . I understand about food being cooked to order but they were extreme lol . Literally we ordered at like 3 10 or 315 our food was not ready till almost 5PM LIKE LITERALLY 440 or something we walked the square watched a whole law and order episode . The food is delicious which is hard to find frfr soul food. The young lady up front was like 20 to 25 min wait which is typical of cook to order but smh way more than that. I’m a huge foodie I go alot of places even have a blog and you can check out my reviews on here so I want to again say FOOD WAS GOOD . HOPEFULLY SHOULD YOU GO YOU READ THIS FIRST AND BE PREPARED TO WAIT ! I do understand that alot of small businesses don’t have staff but that definitely needs to be a priority now that things are opened back up and full transparency is good too saying hi please expect 45 mins to an hour wait so ppl can make that decision we ended up changing our other plans for afterwards because we just didn’t want to be a bother and ask for a refund and leave sweet ppl good food please be upfront about wait time and should you deliver before cool but at least patrons have a reasonable understanding.

First, I was there around 1pm today, they were out of mac & cheese and dressing, but I was not told this when I placed my order, which at this point my mouth is set for these items. For the price of almost 30.00 the food was not all that. The corn muffin was not good, didn’t have the best taste, the green beans were way over cooked and the Banana pudding cake was NOT good at all, it didn’t taste good nor did the texture of the cake looked freshly baked, only thing I enjoyed was the fried pork chop and the yams. So the bottom line I did not enjoy my meal and for the price I must say it was my 1st and last visit. Waiting was not to bad, but it would be really pushing it, if you are on an hour lunch break.

Ok, we are going to start out with the food. It was good and had plenty of flavor. I order catfish nuggets, yams, Mac and cheese, collard greens and Strawberry Cake. The collard greens had no flavor but everything else was good. Strawberry Cake was amazing! The ambiance of the place is the normal for grab and go. Sitting in with a family of 6 would not be accommodating. The service walking in was nice. **** I am going to warn you! DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU ARE HUNGRY!***** I waited over 1 hour and once I asked for my money back my order was now ready. They do have a sign saying the order may take a while. 30 minutes is reasonable and patient. 1 hour is beyond frustrating. I didn’t order a big order, nor did I order something that takes that long to cook. To go order take priority over customers who are actually there! It was my first and last time. It sucks because there food is decent, but not good enough to wait for over and hour to get it.

The food was unbelievable good. I ordered the Smoked Turkey Legs with cabbage, Black Eye Peas and Rice with cornbread simply delicious. My boyfriend had the Baked Chicken, Mac & Cheese Black Eye Peas and Potato Salad. And It was AMAZING. It was so good we got a peach cobblers for desert. Had to take one to go. You must try it!!

My husband and I tried this place on Sunday. We normally go elsewhere on Sunday, but we decided to try this place close to home. The wait was long, but it was worth the wait. The food was great. The bake chicken with rice, yams, collard greens, and my husband dish he had smothered chicken, mac and cheese, yams greens, and dessert. “Banana pudding cake were delicious. My husband took extra piece home, and I started on mine right before my food came out(I was hungry),Cashier was very nice. She really handled the small crowd well by herself. Thanks to God, this food was cooked out of love. Thank you, Brown’s Kitchen, for cooking out of love. God bless you guys!

I must say it was clean and the lady that took my order was polite. However the wait for the quality of food and the price in my opinion was not worthy. The food for me wasn’t horrible but very bland in taste. My cabbage was watery and no gravy for the smothered chicken and dressing. My peach cobbler was half cooked and the kool-aid need a little bit more sugar or add some fruit to it! Y’all know grape kool aid supposed to be sweet!!! Anyways I’m not sure if I would try them again or not but they got to work on the turn around time. Maybe it was just an off day for my experience! Anyways good luck and blessings to the restaurant

When I was a customer a few months back and had a bad experience, I didn’t write a review hoping that it was just bad timing and they would get better. From today and being a dasher, I will never be a customer here again and will refuse orders from this location. As a customer, I had to wait an hour for my food (I understand that it’s not fast food, but that was incredibly too long for the few people that were there ordering. $45 on dirty chicken… come on! Ya gotta clean it before you cook it. The sides were okay. My dasher experience today was that they don’t take orders seriously. I had to wait 15 minutes on the order. (which is time lost for me). The two ladies were moving in slow motion and while one lady was preparing the food, the other lady decided to tell me to cancel the order and have someone else come get it. What the shows me is, as a business, you don’t know how delivery service works and if you cannot handle it, you should not allow delivery service. With that horrible attitude and customer service, you have now lost a customer, a dasher and I will be letting door dash know how you handle dashers so they can refuse to accept as well. As a local business at the square, this is truly saddening and I’m honestly shocked that this is how I was treated. Do better!

If I could I’d give this place 6 stars. When I first walked in with my wife the atmosphere was very homey. The menu was impressively expansive offering many soul food options to please a wide range of tastes. I ordered the fried chicken with macaroni and cheese and yams and for dessert a banana pudding cake. I will have to admit the wait was a little long, but there are signs that warn costumers of this, stating that food is made to order and fresh. When our food came out the server had a smile on her face and throughout the whole process of ordering kept a cheery light about her (although I did not get her name). The fried chicken was coated with a crunchy layer of breading and underneath moist chicken lay waiting. Macaroni and cheese was some of the best I have had in a very long time, such a rich savory cheese coated the tongue and left me wanting more. To contrast this the yams were the best I have ever had in all my years of thanksgivings and family dinners. The yams were soft and melted in your mouth, a deep carmelising sweetness satisfied my tastebuds with every bite. I was genuinely shocked when I first tried all of these food items, just from one bite I could tell I will be coming back for more. You can tell that this food is made with love and care as with every bite you are reminded of it, although slightly pricey it is worth it for the quality and quantity of food you get, I will definitely be coming back here with friends and family.

Went here on Sunday. Seemed to be busy. There was about a 30 min wait considering the restaurant was packed. The Staff was very pleasant and welcoming. I ordered the smothered chicken over dressing with Mac and cheese and yams. When I say food the was delicious it was delicious. I will be coming back for more.

Impeccable customer service. I don’t know why but I get a kick out of restaurants that serve Kool-aid. The food was tasty. The restaurant was nicely decorated. Parking is a task with paying those meters.
