This restaurant doesn’t deserve a 1 star or any, the food was horrible!! I’m a vegetarian so, I’m use to eating veggie meat. However, this was plain awful!!!The food was cold and smelled rotten.The presentation of the food looked like someone opened a can of whatever and tossed sauce on top. My dog who usually gets excited about our food was disgusted. One bite and my husband threw up and we had to toss $66 worth of food in the trash. I would never order from this place again. Disappointed!!!!!

Should’ve known something was amiss because the delivery was just wayyy too fast. Plant based and wanted to switch up usual spots to try someting different, which I’ll never do again. Ordered that Vegetarian mock peking duck, which is advertised on Beyond Menu as being “made in a delicious sauce” which in actuality was made in NO sauce AT ALL, wrapped in flimsy tortilla shells(of all things) with lousy “pickled chinese cabbage”, and served with COLD broccoli. The vegetarian dumplings were the only thing decent and worthwhile eating but they came with no dipping sauce(of course).

Unexpectedly good. We are not vegetarian and would have preferred a pork or shrimp egg roll. But everything we got was delicious, arrived hot within a half hour. Egg roll, hot and sour soup, wontons in peanut sauce, green beans and pork, fried dumplings, AND nicely fried wonton noodles. I thought I’d never find a decent hot and sour soup in Philly. This came close to my ideal. The wontons in peanut sauce I have not seen in Philly before. A very good version.

This is one of the few take out places in the area that has gotten BETTER post COVID… We’ve ordered tons of times over the past 6 months and each time it has been amazing. LOVE the vegetarian/vegan menu. It’s so hard to find places that omit the egg.They have alternatives for nearly everything and they taste amazing. Our favorites are the veggie “chicken” Gen Tso and Chef Special BBQ. Delivery is always fast, but not just rushed and thrown together like most. It’s quality.

This place makes some great food! A hidden gem on South St. They have many options for vegetarians and have low salt or low fat options as well. The food tasted Amazing I ordered the chicken and broccoli with brown Rice and it was superb loaded protein and flavor!

My kids and I order from Golden Empress Garden at least once a week. The food is always fresh and well-prepared, and their delivery times are really quick. They have a terrific array of dishes, including lots of vegetarian options. Some of my kids live in other cities and they ask for food from Golden Empress as the first thing they want when they return to Philly.
