What’s there not to love about Haire’s Famous Gulf Shrimp?!?!? I don’t know where to begin. I mean, Mr. Finnie Haire was always dressed ‘Dapper’; which is old school for looking well dressed and put together. You never, ever saw him wearing anything but a crisp, starched shirt, tie and plain baseball cap. That was the first time I had ever been to a restaurant where the owner was front and center and looked like that; but that let you know he was serious about his business. He took Professionalism to a whole other level. He had no problem going into the kitchen letting them know if they prepared something not right(his standards); but he did it in a loving way. He was never demeaning or condescending about it. He knew that everything reflected on hims; therefore, he wanted everything to be memorable. He’s been in business for over 40 years. On top of that, he was the 1st Black owned business in Clomnskey Park(White Sox), so you know he is a Trailblazer and icon, well, in my mind.
