I can see how this had become a DC institution. Serving up overflowing sandwiches packed with flavor in a land of overpriced, underwhelming fast casual sandwiches, Bub and Pop’s is a clear winner. The half hoagie is a perfect size for lunch or order a full and split it with someone. There are also seats up for grabs as part of the Golden Triangle along the street, but they are directly in the sun with no shade whatsoever.

Dang. Really good, messy sandwiches. We got the Italian which was incredible and the fried chicken cutlet hoagie. Both were amazing. Both had the vinaigrette and hot peppers. Large portions and efficient service. We went when they were busy and it didn’t take too long. We will be back!!

Fresh ingredients and friendly service. I ordered the Philly Special which included pork and broccoli rabe. I honestly would have enjoyed the sandwich a little more without their special sauce which I bought for the chips, but then ended up spreading on their sandwich as well. I thought the sauce was a little heavy on the vinegar. No indoor seating.

There is much to say about a sandwich joint that is basically a window where you pick up your food but…THE FOOD is amazing.

Solid Italian hoagie, even if on the pricey side it’s pretty packed with meat and veggies and mayo. No place to eat which was awkward since it was heavily raining and all there is in front of the shop is a small awning, went all the way back to my hotel to eat it. Filling and wouldn’t mind trying a different one of their sandwiches

Bub and Pop’s is a really good sandwich joint in northwest DC. We ordered two sandwiches, their Italian and their chicken salad. First up with no photo which I’m sorry for is the Italian. This sandwich had plenty of meats, pecorino, and provolone cheese. Along with their version of a vinaigrette and both sweet and hot peppers. The bread held up for the most part and the flavors were there. The chicken salad came on the same sub roll with the same vinaigrette and sweet and hot peppers again. Both sandwiches suffered from the same problem with was to many wet ingredients which degraded the rolls. Also I have not had a chicken salad sandwich with vinaigrette, sweet, and hot peppers before. I would probably hold those items next time. Also provolone cheese seems to be the only cheese option just a heads up. Service was great and they have good flavors. I’ll be going back for sure.

The roast beef sandwich was good but not spectacular. I’d choose a different, warm sandwich next time. Just be aware that warm orders will take a while to be ready. Also know that this place is very busy at lunch time. I went there around noon on a Tuesday, and there were over 10 people waiting outside to pick their orders up, regardless of how cold it was.

Best sandwich I have had in a very long time. I ordered the roast beef hoagie with everything that comes with it. I cant speak for any of the other sandwiches but this one was amazing. I wish I only ordered a half as I couldn’t finish the whole thing and my hotel doesn’t have a fridge to store the rest. It is also a very messy sandwich which i like so get lots of napkins. My wait wasn’t bad and patience is a virtue when it comes to great food. For the impatient customers go to jimmy johns if you want a bad sandwiches that are made freaky fast or McDonald’s for that matter. This place is worth the wait.

If I could rate this 6 stars, I could. There is zero ounce of exaggeration in my words when I say this is one of the best sandwiches I have ever had. If you have any chance for any reason to come here, please do. You will not regret it and I have a feeling you’ll agree with me that these sandwiches are to die for.
