First time to Hilton Head SC and this restaurant did not disappoint! The views of the harbor were just beautiful and the service was amazing! The food was delicious and the atmoshpere was so romantic, they also had live music! I highly recommend making reservations but trust me you will be extremely satisfied if you choose this place!!

This was quite a gem to find! It is tucked away and has amazing, romantic views. You can sit inside in the bar area on outside on the deck. The deck views are absolutely breath-taking. The menu has a lot of options and the appetizer choices are wonderful! The main course dishes are also good to choose from, however, some need more descriptions for instance notate if the dish is semi-spicy. The dessert selections are hard to choose from but the hummingbird cake was a winner for me. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone. It is also reasonably priced.

Great location on the water and a nice random find. Very good atmosphere, our waitress was all around awesome. We had the tuna tartar and lobster nachos as an appetizer. Tuna was solid, lobster nachos were good but little too much sour cream for our liking. Our main dishes were the pan seared grouper and blackened yellowfin tuna. Both were good, but would try different dishes the next time. The blackened tuna was pretty spicey and on a seaweed wasabi bed never getting a break from all the spiceyness. The grouper, again was good but didn’t wow us. Definately will go again next time we’re in town and just change up our main meals.

Read several reviews that were not flattering. Emilio was our waiter. He was wonderful! Attentive, but not hovering. The food was wonderful. The seafood scampi buccatini, the blackened swordfish, encrusted flounder and the surf and turf were delicious. The wine selection was nice.

I wasn’t particularly impressed with the food here. My pasta dish was bad enough that I took one bite and sat my food aside and drank some wine with my wife and shared a wonderful view. The sad thing is that the waiter never even asked me what was wrong with my food. I’m guessing they are used to food being returned. I’m not one to return food or ask for a refund, but asking what was wrong with the dish would have been nice. The noodles were way undercooked and the sauce was completely bland. On the upside, the fried green tomato appetizer was really good.

Food was great, service was excellent. Don’t remember her name but she was from Boston! Steak, lobster tail, grits and shrimp, crab cake, lobster nachos were all fantastic! High recommend.

We went during restaurant week for the first time. The special menu was really good and we got the wine pairing. It wasn’t quite warm enough to sit outside so we are inside with a little view of the water.

ELA’S on the water is a good restaurant. The food, which I had the lobster bisque and salmon, both felt very flavorful and I liked them both. The atmosphere and location were great, being by the harbor and the interior felt very inviting and like a seafood restaurant. However, our server was sweating all over, to the point where you could physically see sweat marks on his shirt and face, then the sweat dropping onto our table. I completely understand it’s not his problem and that he’s rushing from table to table inside and outside in the heat to feed people, but someone in the management has to at least tell these hardworking people to take a break and towel down. The server though, was very nice so kudos for that. Overall, ELA’S is a great restaurant and I look forward to come back again.
