I would go to this place as many times as possible if I get the chance to. People were already lining up at the opening because they don’t have any reservations, no signs, and hard to find. A very traditional ramen place that you need discover. This place is so good that they won’t pay a dime with advertisements.

One of my favorite ramen places to go to in town. The exterior is very subtle, and you may miss it. They have done some small upgrades over the years. The interior is nice and cozy. I had the Kakuni Ramen this time and shared a bowl of gyu-don. The ramen was perfect! The broth was rich and full of great flavors. The gyu-don was a perfect complement to the ramen.

THERE IS NO SIGN (April 2023), you have to go up close and read the doors to find it. Amazing food! Definitely worth the scavenger hunt 🙂

I had the signature kakuni ramen ordered with medium spice and it was delicious. I loved the tender stewed pork bites in it even more than the chashu. The broth was awesome. I also had the yaki gyoza which was tasty also. I opted for a frosty draft beer despite the huge sake offerings. Don’t let the strip mall location discourage you. The up side to this is that there is parking. I am slightly over the cool east side eateries where parking is scarce. The staff here are very friendly and welcoming. One thing to note is that they have a tint to the windows so initially I thought they were closed. I will return to try other items like the tonkatsu.

I am from Japan, my extended family all own Japanese noodle restaurants in Japan. I can tell you, this food definitely is authentic and delicious and reminded me of home! They are masterful with frying, we had fried squid, fried chicken, pan-fried gyoza, it was all just about the best version of those I’ve eaten. Menu is varied, something for everyone.

Best ramen ever. Very flavourful broth, a lot of meat and topping. We always get the grill squid appetizer too, very fresh and cooked to perfection. We always go on a Wednesday because it’s the only day we could get a table without waiting.

Genuinely some of the best ramen I’ve ever had. I’ve been going here for years and the quality has always been top notch. They have my favorite tonkatsu ramen broth, and they take you seriously when you ask for extra spice. A small space, so you have to get there early or be prepared to wait outside (no space inside to wait). Of all the places people recommend in portland or the burbs, this has stayed my favorite!

Food is really low quality, almost no filling in onigiri, I felt I was eating just rice, it was not fried either. On the top of that, onigiri was prepared by two ladies who were eating at the kitchen in front of the customers, what is worse, both of them were picking up food scraps from their teeth with their fingers-yes, those hands were used for food preparation, I hope they at least wash their hands after often visits in a bathroom). It was really unpleasant experience. Very little noodles in ramen, and really thin piece of meat, there was mostly broth which was not a good quality neither, it wasnt warm and you can definitely feel that broth was just a mix of ready ingredients (actually saw them pouring something from multiple different plastic bootles, bleh), not cooked as per traditional recipe. I am sure I can do better at home, for sure I would feel much better knowing what I eat. If you expect from a restaurant to eat better than at home, and, at least, eat good quality ingredients, you won’t find it here. Don’t recommend it.

Several years ago two separate friends told me this place was a great ramen place. I visited, and it was a joke for multiple reasons. There was only one ramen option on the menu, so I ordered it. It was a strange surprise, as it was better than packaged ramen, but not by much. I was sad I hadn’t ordered sushi, because two people sitting nearby ordered sushi and it looked great.
