So thrilled to have Kanak in Charlottesville! My husband and I are huge Indian food fans and Kanak has really set the bar high! Every element of everything we have ordered has been consistent perfection. Spices are beautifully balanced, textures are unmatched, and the amount of food served is just right. The staff is super friendly, knowledgeable about their menu, always willing to give recommendations, and are attentive throughout every sitting. The restaurant itself is beautiful, clean, and comfortable. Great to see so many people eating there at lunch on a Monday. If we could eat here every night we absolutely would! Can’t recommend Kanak cville enough!

Lunch today. Ordered Alo gobi, baigan Bahar, bindi Masala..all spice level three. Was an excellent meal. Entrees came with salad and plenty of naan and rice. Flavor profile on all three entrees was excellent. I especially loved the spice level in the bindi Masala. Service was efficient and polite. Overall a delicious lunch and excellent experience. Will return soon.

Definitely recommend next time you’re looking for Indian food in Charlottesville! We loved the mocktails (Imli Tango especially) and their portion sizes were huge for lunchtime. Giving 4 stars because a bit too much oil for my taste, but definitely super delicious.

We shared the Chili Paneer as an appetizer, and I had the Patia as my meal. There was so much food! I have a nice plate of leftovers to eat tomorrow. I asked for a spice level of three because I like a bit of heat. It was perfect.

Y’all, it’s the best tasting food in town! The yum factor was off the scale for me! I highly recommend the green & spicy habanero drink and their mango cheesecake. We got the vegetable samosas, aloo ghobi, and salmon biryani for our meals and everything was cooked to perfection. I liked the decor and ambiance, especially the interior and exterior art murals. It was a great place for our lunch date. Intimate and a little bit more on the fancier side. We’ll definitely come back!

This was our first time and it was absolutely amazing! I was surprised considering it’s pricing is not too much! It’s honestly so good. I never leave reviews. We will be back once we make it back to Virginia! I wish we had one of these restaurants in North Carolina!

Welcoming environment and staff, great ambiance, very good tasty food! We ordered Shahi paneer, garlic naan, chicken Katti roll, paneer Katti roll, and Imli Tango. It was superb. The restrooms are decent.ample parking space. During our visit, there was a thunderstorm and the power switched very swiftly without notice. Tips: Pre-ordering/pre-booking helps.

I ordered the baingan Bahar last week and it literally was swimming in oil. I tried to pour the oil off a couple of times before realizing that it was hopeless. Also, the skin was tough that they left on the little bits of eggplant that was still saturated with oil. Service also very slow. Won’t be going back.

The place offers a little different dishes on their menu compared to other general Indian restaurant. Their cucumber based mocktail is nice. Portion size is decent. We tried kathi roll, stuffed tikki, paneer chilly in apps. And in main course kala chana, beetroot kofta and sabjiwala. All of their curries were nice and tasty. They can reduce a little oil in preparation. They serve fryums as a free biting which i have not seen any other place and was a good add on. Will visit again to try other dishes on their menu.
