Really delicious cash only joint. After months of Domino’s, we thought we would try Armando’s. With a modest self-proclaim to fame ‘Best Pizza in West Cambridge’, we were encouraged by the locality of their claim. And we were not disappointed. Totally delicious and piping hot pizza with respectable pizza bubbles only obtained from a hot oven.

Food was OK. Sicilian pizza left a lot to be desired with such few toppings. I’ve only been once though, so I could have just gotten an off slice.

Never heard of this place until recently. Apparently, it’s the best pizza spot in West Cambridge. The rumors are true.

I tried their grilled chicken wrap on my way back to my accommodation in the evening, and that was my dinner/breakfast (so big). It was so delicious, rich in flavours. I haven’t eaten such a tasteful wrap for a long time, hence I was coming back every day during my stay in Cambridge. It’s a true hidden gem but right at the bus stop. I was quite surprised when the chap that was making pizza and subs recognized me and greeted me the next day. With so many people in and out (the place seems to be very busy with take out too), I did not expect he would remember me, which was nice. Highly recommend it!

This is one of those rare gems you find tucked away in a little neighborhood a little off the beaten path but right next to the bus stop. This family owned restaurant has been around for 51 years! Armando passed the place down to his daughter and you will often find her son Mike (see photo) behind the counter making the pizzas and subs. If you dine in you might be surprised at how many people he knows on a first name basis. But unlike so many local places you will feel like family even if you are from out of town or even out of state! We had the Sicilian pizza and it was a perfect balance between thick crust and yet still had that crispy crust. The chicken parmesan sandwich was also a hit providing not just dinner but lunch the next day because it was so big! We also had the classic Italian sub, antipasto, and the pasta fagioli soup. Go prepared they only take cash but they do have an ATM machine on-site if you forget.

They’re not lying when they say it’s the best pizza in Cambridge. Tastes just like the joints I used to go to in Manhattan. SO good and the service is so quick! They have tons of options for toppings too. Make sure you bring cash.

Cambridge has great Pizza and this is one of my two favorite places. Not only does it have a local-and-loved feel to it, they are legitimately involved in the community. The pizza is excellent (especially the crust) and service is quick. Came here on a Sunday and had to get an extra slice, as everyone from the neighborhood came through the door to pick up their pies. Bring cash!

Cash-only standby of the best sort of cheap pizza with a case for can/bottle sodas. Expect vinyl tables, framed newspaper articles and sports trophies, and lots of regulars coming to pick up pizzas to go. Not much ambiance but that’s not what it’s selling. The right kind of chew and just enough crunch in the crust.
