Food was excellent ,service was great. Tried another Chinese restaurant around Chester. Not even worth mentioning it. Order a chicken and broccoli, with lo mein noodles. Very disappointed. Vegetables were still in hot water. Sorry Golden Wok.

Thanks to the other Google reviewers I took a chance on this place for a friend’s birthday lunch and it was amazing. The service was quick, our server was friendly and knowledgeable and gave great recommendations. The sushi was delicious and fresh, the egg drop soup was light and yummy and the hibachi portions are fantastic. I didn’t want to stop eating. The restaurant was really quaint and not crowded at all. The takeout however was popping off and people were always in and out quickly. No one I saw waited more than 5 or 10 minutes for an order. This is definitely the best sushi in Chester, might even be the best Japanese food in SC.

If you are looking for decent Asian food in Chester, this is a good option. They don’t have an online order system which is annoying, let’s be honest. You have to call and talk to someone with broken English, online would take this away and provide a great experience for the customer. But my food was on time, decent and affordable.

I love umi! I never received any bad food from here! One of my favorite hibachi restaurants. I LOVE their rice bowls the chicken and shrimp rice bowl is my favorite meals to order!! The general tso chicken is great! It packs the right amount of heat with sweetness really good! And the YUM YUM sauce is AMAZINNNNN!!!

Coming from California, when we order ANY sushi roll, it’s always 7 or 8 pieces. Here, you get 4 or 5. Same price as when I get 8 pieces. So, I will not be ordering sushi from here again. The food was pretty good. Somewhat fair prices. The girl taking order was very efficient; however, she knew we were going to eat there and did not give us fortune cookies. But her friend was sitting at the table next to us and she gave her friend a fortune cookie (right in front of us) and SHOULD HAVE offered us one. I thought that was very rude. Otherwise, I will come back for SOME things when I have the craving. But I can’t see paying sushi prices for half the amount of food that should have been given.

Stopped last night on a whim. I generally eat out less than six times a year. I currently find myself having a dilemma as to if I should do it two days in a row lol. It was phenomenal! I’ve had hibachi two times in my life before last night and I found it to be a bit overrated. This place is a completely different story. I am not a vegetable eater and usually sub out every chance I get on the occasions when I do dine out, but I ate everything and thoroughly enjoyed it. The people were very courteous and I could see a steady stream of people ordering and picking up. I feel very fortunate to live less than a mile away. I will be returning and recommending.
