This is a very nice looking restaurant. We were in town and made reservations for our party of 25 for a birthday dinner. Chophouse allowed us to use the entire second floor of their restaurant. The waitresses were amazing and even helped us set up decorations. Due to the size of our party we had a limited menu in which to order food. The salmon was absolutely amazing but the steaks were hit and miss. The angus filet mignon that my sister in law ordered was butterflied to help it cook faster which totally ruined the presentation and also caused her steak to dry out. Another person in our party had their order come out completely wrong and by the time his food came back out everyone had finished eating already.

One of the best burgers I’ve ever had! It’s sports bar kind of place, but the bar is away from the pool tables. Took my kids and they had a blast and loved playing pool. It’s a little loud at times but a great little gem in Woodstock.

My husband, Dan and I ate at the Chophouse last night for the first time. He had a Bacon, Blue Cheese Burger and really liked it. He said it was perfect. I had Bruschetta which was on bread with just crisp enough crust. I also had their Clam Chowder. It was delicious and positively homemade! We will dine there again soon since we want to try so many more items on the menu.

My wife and I have been to the establishment twice (one time too many). On the first trip we shared the same sentiment on the crab cakes. Not sure what happened to the crab but found it was loaded with filler. My steak (filet) was over cooked but I typically just stay with what I have. I was introduced to the owner by the staff and was not impressed with his lack of personality. While I don’t like judging based on personalities, seeing the response to another negative review solidified my concern with not opening up to the local people who will support you and just ask for good food at market rates. Say what you will but this family miss having Joes and the warm feeling we had there. I feel badly that the reviewer previously had to be called such names and Hope the owner has learned a valuable lesson and this won’t be repeated.

I visited The Chophouse on Friday 1/18/19 with a friend, excited to try the new restaurant in town. The rennovations look nice, but I was extremely disappointed in the food. After perusing the menu, I noticed first that all of the appetizers contained shellfish. While that is not a problem for me, the person I was with has an allergy, and a vegetarian option is always nice to include. I ordered the crab cakes, and for $24 I expected there to be crab in them. Instead, I got a flat, oily, crumbly mess placed on greasy, wilted spring mix making the presentation a little unappetizing. The sides were lukewarm mashed potatoes and previously frozen, tasteless broccoli. The cheesecake for dessert was good and presented nicely and our waitress, I wish I knew her name, was fabulous and did a very good job. However, based on my meal and the response to Tammy’s comment, myself and my family will not be back.

Absolutely fantastic food and service. Great wine list, wonderfully prepared cocktails. Very charming and romantic restaurant. Not kid friendly which I would give more stars for this if I could. Our party of four had two filet mignons, crab cakes, and a ribeye. All prepared as ordered. Sides were fresh and tasty. This is a true gem of a restaurant. The owner Steve even stopped by our table. What a true host and gentleman. Will definitely be back.

Went on New Year’s eve the place is nice so I was hoping for really good food but was disappointed when I got my meal. The appetizers were good but I was disappointed in the meal I got the fillet and it was tough outback has a better one!! If I pay 30 dollars for a steak I want it to be good!! My boyfriend ribeye was much better but still not the best I ever had I hope they get it together because it could be a very nice restaurant!!!

My husband and I have been frequenting Chophouse in Woodstock now for several occasions since moving to the Valley and always have such a wonderful experience! The food is excellent, service friendly, great selection of wines and cocktails in such a charming romantic environment. I just love the fresh flowers and candles on the tables. The steaks are always cooked perfect, great lamb, salmon, scallops and absolutely love the seafood trio and crab cakes. Appetizers are many and now they have a smoked meats & cheese plate and even tried the special escargots! And don’t forget about dessert—oh my gosh, fresh creme brulee and flourless chocolate cake! I have gluten intolerance and it is so wonderful to know everything is safe to eat–no cross contamination to worry about.

Would give less stars if possible. Overpromising and underlivering is an understatement. The only decent aspect here is location. Conveniently placed downtown this restaurant has been mismanaged from the beginning. If you thought the prices were bad wait until you’re served food. Also whatever thirteen/sixty year old they hired to run there social media/google reviews clearly was educated in an underfunded school system and has never been able to take criticism as they should be replaced. Good luck with your business that will ultimately fail leaving you in debt. For future business owners – do not call the locals morons.
