Great restaurant. Everything is made fresh and served hot. They serve crispy homemade chips and slightly spicy salsa. I ordered the shrimp cocktail as usual. It’s always great. Main course was the #2 fried shrimp plate. It comes with fries and the best tarter sauce. I will definitely come back.

Why drive 150 miles to the Gulf of Mexico for tasty and delicious (and fresh) seafood when you can just drive five easy miles down to the good ol’ Golfo de Mexico on good ol’ Bandera Road (in that really really cool old Art Deco-lookin’ building)?? – “El Original Desde 1986!”

This is a west side sea food restaurant with a little bit of everything. It’s an old building and looks outdated but the food and drinks were good. They had raw oysters and that’s limited item around san Antonio. They also serve alcohol drinks. Not a full bar but a small selection of drinks . Its very spacious and has tables set up for large families. The prices were great. Dozen oysters for 12$. That’s a steal.

If you grew up in Mexico’s Gulf of Mex. coastal region, you will find this restaurant exceptionally good. They work the Red Snapper (Spanish: Huachinango – don’t pronounce the “H”)… If you don’t know what that fish tastes like, in a sense: you haven’t lived 🙂

My husband ordered combination seafood cocktail. Had to leave half of it. Crabmeat was too hard to bite/chewAvocado pieces were hard. Cilantro pieces/stems unable to chew.

It’s a typical Mexican restaurant, no fancy stuff. But the food is amazing. Don’t miss the micheladas and the Salsa molcajete. The salsa is freshly made from scratch and very tasty.

I came here to enjoy some good seafood but this places wasn’t it. The food in the menu didn’t look appealing so I went with a campechana. You can’t go wrong with that but it just didn’t taste good. To begin with, it had to much ketchup in it and the seafood tasted mushy like if it was refrigerated for a long time. The only thing fresh here was the avocado.
