I had not been to Sweet P’s since it was way out in South Knoxville and absolutely loved that location, so I thought I would try the Fountain City location since the reopen…I was not impressed in the least.

We love this neighborhood restaurant and glad they re-opened at Fountain City after the accident which damaged the restaurant. Food selections never disappoint. I specifically liked the ribs i ordered: perfectly cooked, superb texture. Slaw is the best side dish for the ribs. Yum! Banana pudding is also my favorite. They also have good meatloaf which I normally ordered before they temporarily closed last year.

Dined in for the first time at this location last weekend and let me say – it was AWESOME. We went on a Sunday afternoon and it wasn’t busy at all. Plus, the staff was so friendly and quick. We slid right in, ate some of the best brisket I’ve had in a while, along with some amazing Mac and cheese and then dipped out. My husband swears by their thin sauce but I really like their normal thick bbq sauce. It was delicious and highly recommend trying this Fountain City staple.

Sweet P’s uptown corner was amazing. I would highly recommend that you go and try it. We had the pork rinds as an appetizer then the bbq plate for lunch. Best pork rinds hands down. The bbq was perfect and the mac and cheese has been a favorite of mine since I tried sweet p’s downtown and the French was was great as well. I was really pleased with the service we received. Lucy the hostess was sweet and got us seated very quickly. Our waitress Rahnaizah(Rae) was by far the best waitress I have ever had. She made sure our drinks was never empty and my husband and I share a plate as there is a lot of food and when she brought it out they had already separated on two plates for us. We will be returning to this establishment and hopefully Rae will be our waitress again. The food and the service was amazing.

There were six of us in our party and we all had a great experience. The food, service, and atmosphere were all great. The banana pudding, macaroni and cheese, collard greens, corn bread, coleslaw, meatloaf, pulled pork, and sauces were all delicious. Portion sizes were perfect, not too big and not too small. We will definitely be going back!!

First time visit for my birthday lunch with fam! We were greeted immediately and sat in the bar area. It was a Sunday afternoon and it was moderately busy. The food was awesome, got the pulled pork plate with potato salad and greens mix. Cornbread was great as well. The bartender was friendly but felt like we were a bother as his bar was full of other patrons and we did not order any drinks. I did notice several employees came from kitchen area and was sitting/drinking at bar. Not sure if management would want customers to see that if they are working. Other than that everyone that we interacted with was awesome and don’t skip the banana pudding! ️

The food was awesome, and I love the atmosphere here. The waitress that I had on this trip was not very attentive. I never got a refill on my sweet tea, and I had hot wings, so I was sitting there eating my eyes because the food was so spicy. I sat and waited to get my check so long, my husband went on to the car because he was tired of waiting.

We tried Sweet P’s for first time. Unfortunately, will not be going again. Prices were pretty high for the small portions. My husband got the pulled chicken bbq platter and was very disappointed in taste and portion was small, I got the Sunday roast beef which was very good but did have a small,portion. For $17 and $15 you should get a good portion. We also got an appetizer of smoked queso $9 8oz. didn’t have enough chips so ask for a few more, they charged us $5 for the extra chips so we could finish our dip!! That was ridiculous! And they were out of cornbread! You should be able to mix up a few portions of cornbread when running low you shouldn’t be running out of food. Waiter said usually a whole list of foods not available so it was good it was only the cornbread! Really usually a whole list?! Sad, this restaurant won’t be there for long if it keeps this going! Total bill with tip over $60 and we had water!

Wife and I got ribs (they were very tuff and dry) fries were pretty good, salad was ok. We won’t be going back for sure. We don’t like dry tuff ribs, not tender at all.
