Owner Chef K has been working sushi restaurants since the age of 19 and now has finally opened his own sushi restaurant in the Playa Vista/Playa Del Rey and Long Beach area.This is the new store of Sushi Beluga in Long Beach. He specializes in very unique specialty rolls but also the classic sushi rolls. His motto is High quality ingredients make great sushi.

Swung by this place on our way back from downtown. Its tucked in-between two large apartment buildings but has a nice outdoor area. They were really busy, but took our order right away. Everything was great, the crunchy dragon roll was so good we got a second one for dessert. Did a little reading and found out the owner has been in the sushi business over 20 years. No complaints and plan on stopping in again soon!

We first went to the original location in Playa del Rey, and we loved it. That night they told us they just opened one here in long beach and we just got to try it. Same menu. Same great welcoming service and the fish is fresh and good. The chef made us a live scallop dish which was fantastic. Everything from the menu was great and I thought the yuzu roll was really good. Simple, welcoming, clean, tasty. ❤

I never write food reviews, this place was worth writing a review. Honestly the best sashimi, and unique rolls I’ve had since Tsukiji Market night venues. The live scallop was an extraordinary 2 shell (3 scallops) raw vs cooked ends with butter truffle garlic and “see you tomorrow” skinny mushrooms. Woooow!

We were so excited to learn Sushi Beluga had opened in LB! We used to drive from LB to the playa del Rey location just for their salmon truffle hand rolls. Sushi Beluga LB did not disappoint! Great service, delicious food, and good vibes. Highly recommend.
